Personal History
Sienna was born on Trill to two loving parents, Acer and Tiana Britch, both deeply involved in politics. She has one older brother by the name of Ka'lan Britch. They grew up in the capital city of Trill on the water front which is where Sienna's love for swimming grew. She had an odd Aunty, Kria Britch who had lived her younger years on the planet Earth. Sienna loved sitting on the beach watching the sunset and listening to her Aunt tell stories of her husband who had been a Commander in Star Fleet. Kria taught her a meditation called yoga which she continued to study passionately.
As the years passed Sienna's mother quit politics to focus on raising her two children and to be the supporting wife of a would be 'President Acer Britch'. Sienna's childhood memories are filled with lavish expensive dinners and shows supported by a well funded education where she learned things including how to play the piano and to speak basic Klingon and Bajoran as well as other tongues. Sienna loved learning and unlike normal children would look forward to her classes. Despite this her one true passion and dream in life was to become a Hatha Yoga instructor and as she became older she began to study Tai Chi which had very similar concepts. This of course was not something her parents agreed too and instead tried to distract her with more education covering topics as broad as biology, chemistry and history.
When Sienna reach her 17th birthday a scandal ripped through Trill that Acer Britch had, had an affair with another woman. This not only rocked her family and those her family knew but it also rocked her father's political campaign to the point of no return.
For reasons, that Sienna is still not able to fathom, her mother and brother stood deftly by her father and defended him. Her brother had already begun his own career in the political realm and in turn put the full backing of his own campaign behind her fathers. It seemed such a crucial point in her entire family's lives. Whether it was out of desperation or out of some crazy assumption Acer Britch concluded that if his beautiful, educated and popular daughter was to be chosen for The Joining it would give his campaign the boost it needed to get back on track.
Acer had Sienna put through the trials required for acceptance to be joined with a symbiont.
Sienna's most vivid memory of this time was after the trials had completed. She was sitting on the steps to her parent's lavish house, listening to her father converse with one of the Guardians of the Symbiosis Commission. It had been a huge deal to have a real live Guardian in their home. Tiana had cooked and cleaned for days in advance. They didn't know Sienna was listening at the time as she had fooled them into thinking she had gone to bed early.
Sienna remembered the Guardian was hesitant and sounded concerned about Acer's suggestion to have Sienna joined. He commented on her young age, on her seeming disinterest at being joined and then told her father that her medical results had come back stating that she had a chemical imbalance of Isoboramine which could inhibit the connection between the symbiont and Sienna. Despite all these points Acer was a determined man with wealth and power and Sienna quickly learned that even the most 'holy' could be corrupted.
On the day of her Joining things seemed to go smoothly until she began to complain about voices in her head that she could not control or make to go away. When she spoke her sentences would be sporadically interrupted with out of context phrases, as if she were having three different conversations at once. The next day she had her first 'episode'. These episodes simply meant that one of the previous host personality would take Sienna over completely. She reported it feeling like she was locked prisoner inside her own body. She could hear herself speak and feel herself move but she had no control. She remained in isolation for six months whilst the government's best medical practitioners and psychologists worked with her to regain control again.
They tried every kind of test but nothing proved to work. Sienna instigated the holistic teachings Kria had given her, including moral disciplines, physical postures (asanas), purification procedures (shatkriyas), poses (mudras), yogic breathing (pranayamas), and meditation. The doctors and scientists soon conceded that Sienna herself was the only one who could pull the strength needed to control the symbiont Tam. Nothing else seemed to worked.
It was around this time that Sienna made two decisions - one: she had to get away from Trill and her family if she ever wanted to live her own life and two: only by joining Star Fleet would she be able to learn all she wanted to learn, see the universe she wanted to see and in turn have stories to tell her own niece one day.
Within weeks of her being deemed 'sane' and in turn being released from the confines of isolation Sienna forged her parent's signatures on an application form to the Star Fleet Academy and stole away on a freight ship bound for Earth. She had left a note explaining her actions to her family. To save face for political reasons none of them spoke of it. In fact her father paid her academy fees and pronounced publicly that it had been his idea all along for his daughter to see the universe and contribute to it through joining Star Fleet. Sienna has not spoken to her family in four years.
Sienna enjoyed her life at the Academy and loved the constant challenges it brought. Her skills in Yoga and Tai Chi proved a great basis for other fighting techniques giving her grace, flow and balance where others were lacking. It was soon very clear that Security would be the best career path in Star Fleet for her. She continued to have a popular following of friends despite being very private. Although she was never at the top of her classes she had always been a constant quiet achiever.
Upon graduation from the Academy Sienna was given a position on Space Station Sierra 18, SS-18. In transit she stopped over at Star Base Bravo to discover that Sierra 18 was under occupation by the Romulans in response to the war (See: Federation Space History that was currently raging throughout the Federation. Sienna was reassigned by Commodore Tregelen (then First Officer of Sierra 18 (See: Tregelen, Alexis) to take up a position on the USS Ticonderoga, CA-1471 as part of a small fleet being sent by Star Fleet to re-take the station. During this mission Sienna was given command of a small unit and ordered to transport to the Station’s Sickbay to regain control. The mission had been difficult and bloody forcing Sienna into the reality of the career she had chosen for herself.
After the station had been retaken and the war had ceased a period of calm ensued as things returned back to normal. A new Commanding Officer was assigned - Commodore Roberts (See: Roberts, Jericho). Upon his arrival he promoted Sienna to Chief of Security, in light of the display she had shown during the retaking of Sierra. Sienna’s playful and party-hard personality quickly took a major hit as responsibility forced her to change.
During a diplomatic mission with an unknown alien race, a deadly virus was released causing the entire Station to succumb to bouts of anger, aggression and uncontrollable sexual expression. Numerous measures were taken to combat the virus but in the interim Sienna herself became exposed. The final stage of the virus was an overwhelming urge to escape so as to spread the pathogen further. Sienna broke numerous rules using her position and personal security codes to obtain access to the shuttle bay where she proceeded to take a visiting Captain by the name of Thoreau hostage in hopes to be a passenger on his shuttle. Thankfully for Captain Thoreau the virus overwhelmed her and she eventually passed out.
When she came to her sense she found herself in the Sickbay indebted to the freight Captain. He had apparently carried her there in search of assistance. The Captain learned bits and pieces about her past by asking those that knew her. When he came back he threatened to use the knowledge to his advantage. Afraid if the truth came out about her unstable symbiont that it could end her career Sienna applied for a transfer off of the base, with the reasoning that a moving Starship would be harder for the Captain to her pin down. As fate would have it she was assigned a post as the Chief of Security on the USS Titan that was now under the command of then Captain Tregelen.
To date the USS Titan has had a number of standard missions including a rescue operation on Inferno and assisting with a viral outbreak on Sakura Prime. At a recent promotion party Lt Sienna Tam was promoted to First Officer of the USS Titan.
Shortly into their next mission Sienna was promoted to LCdr, along with her new position. The Titan was ordered to Lyshan IV where a Federation Colony required evacuation due to a volcanic eruption on the planet's surface. Once reaching the planet the Titan launched shuttles. Political unrest on the planet made the evacuation difficult at first but they soon over came their differences and accepted aid. As the evacuation continued a distress call was received from a Kobheerian Freighter and Commodore Tregelen was forced to split the ship to deal with both issues, leaving Sienna in command of the evacuation.
It soon came to point where shuttles could no longer break through the volcanic atmosphere of the planet and the Engineering crew had to devise a way to get the transporters working. This was accomplished using probes. Commodore Tregelen soon returned with the drive section of the ship and all the colonists were rescued.
Previous Hosts
Li'ola Tam
Was a musician who was very well known throughout Trill. She had a huge fear of space and so never left the Trill homeworld but traveled as much as possible with both feet on the ground. Li'ola never married but had been through many relationships and reminded Sienna of a female Casanova (a human story that had intrigued her when studying Earth's history). She died from old age. Thanks to Li'ola, Sienna's knowledge of her home world is extensive and her love for music greater then before. She finds it a lot easier to play the piano for example. She also feels she has a deep understanding of the male psych thanks to the numerous 'loves' in Li'ola's life but there is always something more to learn and Sienna does not shy from adding her own experiences to that of Li'olas'.
Briocket Tam
Was a mocked scientist who shocked the intellectual world when he was selected for The Joining. He was a private man who preferred to stay in his laboratory tinkering with outlandish theory's then to socialize with other beings. Despite this Briocket did make trips off world once or twice to attend seminars and conferences. He life was a short one. Certain he had found the cure for aging he could not obtain the funding or test subjects required for testing - so Briocket talked his wife into removing his symbiont for a short time whilst he tested his new serum. The after effects where terrible and ended in his death. His wife contacted the Commission and returned the symbiont for a new host.
Otek Tam
A gruff 3rd generation freight pilot Otek was overjoyed at the prospect of joining. Both his parents had been selected for the process so he had been certain that he would not be overlooked. Otek ran his own freight ship between federation worlds and was known to look after his crew as family. He experienced many adventures through out space and Sienna draws on them at times through her career with Star Fleet. Otek married twice but had no children. Something that he always regretted. This regret makes Sienna very positive towards the thought of having children one day as if to make up for Otek's lack. Otek died of wounds suffered when his ship was attacked by a pirate vessel. The crew returned him home just in time to save the symbiont.

Personality: She is a vegetarian. She is a quiet listener who seems to only speak when warranted. She is slow to anger and it takes a lot to stress her to a point where it shows. She prefers small groups to large gatherings simply because she feels she can gain more from the experience. People have often commented that she seems to always know more then she lets on. An old soul with a child's face.
Sense of Humor: Dry at times bordering on sarcastic. More often then not she misses most humor with an innocence that makes it almost forgivable.

Likes: Swimming, Trill pianos, cherry syrup, coffee (sometimes with cherry syrup)
Dislikes: Her mother's cooking, anger (provoked or otherwise), mess (everything has its place), meat (she is vegetarian)

Achievements: Having the strength and courage to defy her parents and join Star Fleet
Disappointments: Not having the strength to defy her parents when it came to the Joining.
Illnesses: At times her symbiont can take over causing what some people would describe as a psychotic episode. Due to the lack of understanding of her 'episodes' Sienna's psycho annalist reported she was fit to serve Star Fleet. Not wanting to jeopardize her position in Star Fleet Sienna did not comment herself on the situation.
Strengths: Having the minds/memories of three other beings inside her head can sometimes give her an advantage over others. Slow to anger.
Weaknesses: Having the minds/memories of three other beings inside her head can sometimes be a hindrance causing her distraction at critical moments in life. She has an observatory nature which causes her to stand back and listen when sometimes she should speak up.
Fears: Drowning, losing complete control to one of her hosts
Prejudices: None defined enough to mention but she does have little patience for narrow minded people.
Off Duty Clothing Tastes: She is very feminine in taste and before joining Starfleet liked to wear free flowing dresses and shawls. Now her wardrobe consists of singlets and pants (cargo and kahiki)

Friends: She has many friends but none she would class as a 'best' friend. Sienna has always been 'popular' and never short of a friend but has always maintained a love for remaining private and solo. If asked why, she would tell you it is due to her hosts constant craving for new things, which makes it hard to maintain one single anything for a long period of time. This may be something she leans on too much however when justifying her lack of interest in long term meaningful relations on any level.
