Talos IV
Talos IV is an inhabited M-class planet, the fourth of the Talos system.
The planet has an atmosphere of oxygen-nitrogen, and a gravity that was 0.9 of Earth standard.
It is located in the Alpha Quadrant.
The planet is the homeworld of the Talosians, a telepathic humanoid species, as well as the Talosian "singing plant."
The planet's deep underground had been inhabited by the Talosians, who had evolved as an old and weakened species, with enormous mental powers.
In the mid-23rd century, Talos IV regained its ability to support surface life.
In 2254, Captain Christopher Pike and the USS Enterprise responded to a distress call from this planet, though once they arrived they discovered it was faked.
After Pike reported back to Starfleet, the government imposed "General Order 7" on the planet.
"General Order 7" states that no one is to approach, let alone make contact with the planet, under penalty of death.
In 2267, Spock brought a dying Pike back to this planet, in order to take advantage of the Talosians' great mental powers.
