Join Link

It has been pointed out to me that the "Join" link should be bigger or right on the main page, since this is the page new people see when they first enter Fed Space. I was thinking that a large text link at the bottom of the introduction would be appropriate. --Yvette

Yes, I completely agree, they should be visually molested by the join link...we need to be shameless about it! --Bateson

Took out the intro text as it was redundant. How's it look now? There's a join link on the second line they read. --Beckett

I think it definitely looks better now, and it makes people see that joining is more important than all the resource pages. :P --Yvette

I hate to be a stick in the mud, but I did like the intro blurb a lot. What's gonna happen with that? --Bateson

The blurb is there on the splash page. People will see it before they see the wiki. --Yvette

Good stuff, then it's awesome to me! --Bateson

I like how this looks much better. Thanks for bringing this to our attention!--Beckett 13:21, 4 March 2008 (PST)

Spacing

Is there any way to put 5 pixels of space between the FNN frame and the AotW frames? It looks like it kind of runs together as is. I think about 5px would be about right. --Beckett 22:08, 9 April 2008 (PDT)

How is that?? The main reason that I did it all together is because it was having problems with firefox and opera. I will check how it looks when I get home --Tregelen 22:42, 9 April 2008 (PDT)

Looks good to me. Looked at in FF and it looks fine. I don't have Opera loaded anymore, but I've seen it in most other browsers and it looks fine. Right now I've got FF, IE, NS, Safari and Flock installed. Just started using Safari...so far, I'm liking it better than all the other browsers, though it needed a little tweaking. Hard for me to admit I actually like an Apple product... --Beckett 00:29, 10 April 2008 (PDT)

I use Safari at home, downloaded it with the apple update thing and I like it better. Also looks fine in Opera. --Tregelen 02:29, 10 April 2008 (PDT)

Any chance we can get a few pixles of space between the FNN articles and the AoW? I'd like to see something similar to the space between the FNN homepage articles.--Beckett 05:31, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

Better? --Tregelen 13:11, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

Perfect, thanks! --Beckett 13:09, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

Appearance

Anyone got any ideas on how to spice this page up a little? This is our main page and to me it looks a little dull. --Beckett 22:08, 9 April 2008 (PDT)

I could probably throw together something in flash that we could put up, any idea as to what this should have? --Tregelen 02:30, 10 April 2008 (PDT)

I was thinking of maybe an 'On this Day' box on the main page. I have put together a bio template that if everyone uses will put each PC and NPC into a category based on there birthday, this will enable us to say 'Hey today is Ensign Ricky's birthday'. The bio template can be found on the How To page (Still a work in progress) --Tregelen 00:31, 11 April 2008 (PDT)

I like that idea. I'm still looking at ideas to make the front page stand out a little bit. I like the page count that you added. Nice touch. --Beckett 12:40, 15 April 2008 (PDT)

I added the 'On this day' box. It will have more information added to it once I get home and can work on it a little more and as soon as every PC/NPC uses the bio template, or adds the category for thier birthday it will have more info there --Tregelen 19:31, 15 April 2008 (PDT)

Having problems with browser compatibility again. Looks good in IE, but not any other browser.--Beckett 01:02, 16 April 2008 (PDT)

Ouch. Thats what you get for making additions at work where they only have IE. Ill get on it. --Tregelen 02:36, 16 April 2008 (PDT)

We're still having problems with cross platform compatibility. Would it be easier to just arrange things linearly from top to bottom? --Beckett

Probably would be. Once I get the net back up and running at home ill sit down and play with it a bit and get it looking good in IE, FireFox, Opera, Safari and any other version that someone wants to nudge me about. I might have to create a seperate css for each browser if it comes down to it. --Tregelen 06:13, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
