Personal History
Anja grew up in the country side close to the Swedish town of Växjö. There she was raised with two brothers who always had treated her as an equal. Her father worked as a traditional carpenter and made old fashioned furniture that was sold for good money. Her mother was unemployed and dedicated to the household.
Anja did well at school and seemed to have a good grasp of physics and technique. Computers had no secrets for her and she found nature forces such as gravity mighty interesting. Astrology and Astronomy programs were often viewed on the view screen in their house.
At fifteen she worked at a restaurant where she met a co-worker named Jörgen. They got along well and became well acquainted. Jörgen became a friend of the family. He wasn’t the smartest boy in the world, but had a good strong pair of hands and an eye for accuracy. His decision to become a carpenter just as Anja’s father barely surprised anyone. This did of course strengthened the bond between Anja, Jörgen and her parents as he learnt the craft from her father.
At the same year Anja finished her high school, Jörgen finished his apprenticeship as well and together they decided to travel the world. After a year of travelling they had visited over a hundred countries and Anja had figured out what she wanted for the future, she was going to apply at the Starfleet Academy in France.
After two years the two got married, Anja was twenty and it was during the summer leave from the academy that Jörgen had secretly arranged everything and when she came home that night it had been a fantastic surprise...she was getting married the very next day!
Anja has specialized herself in communications and worked at the European Space Control Centre in Malmö as an assistant Air Space Controller, during her time as a midshipman. In that period she also gave birth to her first son, Lasse. She managed to combine her work and the raising of her son easily and took courses to learn more and more about communications and later worked as an assistant Air-Space controller from the larger base at Stockholm. She was able to work part-time for quite a while which was perfect as three years later her second son was born, his name was Björn.
After her maternity leave she got assigned another job at the centre, this time specializing more in improving communication procedures and making cultural based communication plans for interactions with several species such as the Trill. The new job came with a promotion to ensign.
It took just six months before Anja started to get bored and restless just as she was as a child. She decided to apply for a position as communications officer on board of a Star ship. Jörgen supported her ambitions, even if he did not like her going away, he wanted to see his wife be happy and if she could protect earth from threats such as the Krynar than that was exactly what she had to do. He had plenty of liberty to determine his own working hours and dedicated himself to raising the two boys.
Anja now got assigned to a small policing vessel that mainly operated within a two week’s travel from Earth. Every two weeks she had two weeks off, again a good working schedule to be around her kids quite often.
Till everyone’s surprise the woman became pregnant again and this time had a son and a daughter, Nils and Frida. She now had four blonde kids walking the earth. It was typical, yet what could she do about it, she and Jörgen both had the distinguishing Nordic blond hair and light eyes.
After another maternity leave the woman now got assigned to a Berlin Class frigate and worked there as a junior tactical officer and after a year of hard work she became a fully qualified tactical officer. After two and a half years she requested to be assigned to a small policing vessel which was approved. She moved back to the same ship as before but now was promoted to Lieutenant (JG). Just after the promotion she got news that her assignment was disbanded and she received new orders, she was assigned to the USS Intrepid instead.
