Personal History

Childhood

As a child Marissa had a normal upbringing in true British fashion. With both her parents working she spend a lot of her younger years at a boarding school. It was near Oxford and she felt quite intrigued by the history of that city, living in relics of times long gone made her feel special. Her quick wit and experimental behavior led to her being sent to a school for more gifted students when she turned 11 years old. Luckily, apart from some minor explosions no one ever got hurt in one of her experiments. When she was 13 her interests started to shift away from chemistry to psychology. The human mind seemed so complicated and ungraspable that she became increasingly passionate to learn more about the way humanoids functioned. Her deep distrust of Vulcans was often supported by the, in her eyes, inhumane decisions they made. They used ratio completely separated from emotions, that was a rare sight on earth. With brilliant grades the girl graduated from high school and her education with the medical department of Star Fleet has been one without much noise. Only once she came in trouble as she accidentally used a phaser on her own team member, it was registered as an accident. Star Fleet Career Marissa attended the Star Fleet Academy without any delay and graduated as a Medical officer. Her specialisms were Psychology & Psychiatry, she has always been a very expert people’s reader. She finds the human mind very interesting, an ungraspable matter that responds differently in every case. Her first placement was the USS Agincourt as a junior medical officer. She stayed there for years before transferring to the USS Hurricane as a full medical officer. Marissa totally loved going on the away teams and observing people during that. Her knowledge and skills seemed invaluable and saved lives. After that first intense period she worked back at the academy as a character evaluator in Paris. During final tests she observed the candidates and gave the instructors advice about the competence and psychological strength of the trainee, when asked she came up with tough scenario’s that would expose the weaknesses of a candidate pretty easily. During the Krynar war she boarded the USS Watson and worked hard to keep her crew running under extraordinary rough conditions. When her CMO was killed she took over and did so with success. As acting CMO she stayed on the USS Watson for a few more years. The next step in her career will be becoming a fully-fledged department head on a ship.
