Personal History

Lancepaul's mother died while giving birth to him. He has always felt her death was his fault, even though he knew better. When Lancepaul was one his dad Arthur remarried. As he began to get older he began to really dislike Miri. When Lancepaul was ten he and his step brother Travis witnessed the tragic car accident that killed his dad, and other step brother and sister. They both nearly lost their lives that day. With a little quickness and luck they both managed to survive which still remains a mystery to Lancepaul. When the car accident took the lives of her husband and two youngest children, she took her son Travis and step son Lancepaul in. It went okay for about six months. After that they began to fight all the time. Finally after a year, she told the Alaska state workers that Lancepaul was beyond her control. So after a few days the state workers came and got him.

While Lancepaul bounced around foster homes, his stepmother Miri took his brother Travis and moved. She left no telephone numbers, no addresses, and no information to go on at all. She did that because they never got along. When he was younger Lancepaul once fell into the cage of ostrich's and emus at the zoo, and was immediately attacked. However, an attendant heard his screams and saved him from the animals. After that Lancepaul has always been afraid of ostrich's and emus. Lancepaul also has a fear of enclosed/small spaces. Those fears come from playing a game of hide and seek. During which time he hid in a small closet. As the closet door closed shut, it got jammed. He pushed and pushed. He struggled and struggled, but couldn't open the door still. He became so frightened that's he laid down in the fetal position and cried. Until finally his father found him and managed to open the door.

When Lancepaul was seven his father put him in martial arts classes. That way he would learn to defend himself. Lancepaul took about three years of karate. During which time he took place in a tournament and won three medals for sparring. Lancepaul has always enjoyed science. Particularly astronomy and astrology. Now he looks to star fleet as a new beginning.

Lance's time at the academy seemed to fly by. Before he knew it, he had graduated the academy, and was assigned to the USS Dauntless as a Science officer. His first mission was pretty straight forward. He and his ship were sent to investigate a spacial rift in the Kaleb sector. When they got there another star ship, the USS Kiev, had just come through. The ship was being followed by a bunch of ships, only known to the Federation at that time, as Shards. The crew's job was to figure out a way to close the hole in space before the other ships could come through. With the help of Lance's former department head, Lieutenant Yasmin Boehm, they were able to formulate a plan. Lance was then sent to the shuttle bay to get all the warp cores from the shuttles and load them all onto one shuttle. With help from the engineers and a volunteer pilot, they successfully launched the only working shuttle. (As the warp cores had been removed from all the rest to make a big enough explosion.) The captain and crew of the Kiev were then transported aboard the Dauntless. Commander Terra Arking then steered the Kiev into the opening of the rift at the same time as the shuttle. The Dauntless was able to successfully beam back the two crew aboard the shuttle, but unfortunately not Commander Arking. The Kiev and the shuttle reached the rift at the same time and the resulting explosion successfully closed the rift. It also prevented the other ships from entering the Kaleb sector as well. While the rest of the crew then enjoyed some well earned shore leave on Star base bravo, Lancepaul however, needed to request an extended leave of absence. The leave was to due the fact that a private investigator that Lance had hired, had finally located his brother Travis. The re-union was long over due. It pained Lance greatly to leave but he needed to return back to the fleet. Upon Lance's return to the Dauntless, he learned of his department head's unexpected leave of absence as well. With no clue as to wether or not she would return Lance stepped up and took on the role of acting chief science officer. This next mission brought Lance and the rest of the crew to Yridia Prime. The crews goal was to gather any and all information pertaining to possible Krynar incursions into Federation space. The trip to Yridia Prime, was uneventful. As well as the next couple of days. One the third day things began to heat up for Lance and the rest of the crew. The ships sensors picked up a Ferengi vessel, that had crossed into federation space, that was being pursued by a Romulan war bird. When hailed by the Dauntless, both ships responded. First the Ferengi, and then the Romulans. The Romulans accused the Ferengi of smuggling something, as they proceeded through Romulan space. The Ferengi claimed they were doing no such thing, and that the Romulans were just harassing them. After both ships agreed to let the crew of the Dauntless inspect the Ferengi vessel to see if they were indeed smuggling anything, a small away team was assembled. As the team was being assembled a manifest check of the Ferengi cargo had been ran. The only thing on the cargo manifest was 'unidentified scientific equipment'. Lance volunteered to go along on this away mission to see if he could help with identifying this ' Uknown equipment'. However, before anyone got to actually search the cargo hold Captain Wong recalled the Dauntless crew and also all of the Ferengi crew as well. Lance found himself back on the Dauntless, in a hallway in front of a lab that had been set up for Bio-hazard containment. Lance then put on a hazardous materials suit, and entered the lab. Moments later the first officer, Korbon Hawkens, was beamed directly into the lab holding a container. Then out of nowhere Yridian pirates showed up wanting the cargo from the Ferengi vessel. (That was after the crew of the Dauntless upset the Romulans by confiscating the Ferengi cargo and crew.) The pirates then opened fire on the Romulans, and the Dauntless began to warp away. However, just as they did the pirates got one good shot in on the Dauntless. When the ship rocked violently from the blast the other two lab techs, who were also trying to help identify this unknown substance, fell. The vile of chemical smashed open on the floor. Unfortunately for the two techs the face shields on their suits smashed too, and they were both instantly infected. By that point Lance and Korbon had discovered that the chemical was actually an artificial mixture of the Ulcartic virus and the Tellarian death syndrome. Lance and Krobon had not been infected because when the ship got hit they did get thrown, but landed on their backs. Their suits remained whole. With-in minutes the two crew members were both dead. The chief medical officer, Jason Rainbows, then suspended the two bodies in transportation buffers so as not to spread the virus. Lance then safely stored the container with the rest of the virus in it. The Dauntless finally got so far into Federation space that the Yridian pirates gave up the chase.

After that we got shore leave, and a new CO. It was pretty straight forward, Commander Wong left, and Captain Nathaniel Lornak took over, There was a short change of command ceremony and also a promotion for me to Lietuenant, Junior Grade, and then to full Lieutenant. After the ceremony we were sent on a shakedown cruise. Well before we could get started on the shakedown, we got dispathed to a science station on Calder II. Star Fleet had not had any contact from this science station in over 24hours and wanted to know why. The Dauntless was sent to investigate. Upon arrival there was immediate sign of trouble. Then a few moments later we were attacked by renegade Romulans. A short battle ensued, we walked away with our lives, well most of the landing party did. A couple officers were not as fortunate. They died almost immediately. Shortly after this a Star fleet Intelligence vessel came and pushed us off the case. Just then the Dauntless recieved a distress signal from Admiral Wueste, Earth was under attack from the Krynar make full haste. So we did. When we got there the scence before was incredible, scary, crazy but incredible none the less.

The Moon was somehow pushed off track and now on collision course with Earth the Earth man but minutes. The Dauntless, as was other ships, was told to fly by transport as many surviors as our teleporter could pick up. We saved in total just over 200 people. We then rendevoused with the rest of the Fleet in Martian orbit. From there the Dauntless was ordered to make full haste to Teller Prime, where we were rendesvous with the USS Titan and break way through the Krynar/Teller lines and pave a router for our troops to take the surface on our quest to free the Tellerites. Between the Dauntless and the Titan we did our job, and we did it well, and with minimal casualties. Finally the Dauntless got its 'Graser' weapon, anti krynar weapon, ready and destroyed one of the Krynar motherships.

Finally after what felt like eternity, the Krynar ended up pulling out of Tellar and retreated somewhere. Now the Dauntless is back in port at Starbase Bravo. After all this death, he felt is was nice, to be back to the closest thing he could call a home, Bravo. Oh, Bravo how I missed thee. Time for some well earned shore leave and to meet with a new recruit, fresh from the academy.

With shore leave now over, it was time to return to the field. The next mission involved a trip to Calder II. The mission was to discover why the science station had been out of contact with the Federation for so long. Shortly after arriving to the space station we got our answers. With-in moments of our arrival on the base, our away team was immediately attacked by a group of Romulan terrorists known as the Uv'heri. After protecting ourselves and taking out the renegade Romulans, the crew of the USS Dauntless were told to basically forget what happened there and go about on our merry way, by good ole Starfleet Intelligence. That did not sit well with myself or other members of the crew. However before any of us could inquire further, we were called into battle to join the rest of the fleets fighting the Krynar. We then rendesvoused with the rest of the fleet in martian space. Shortly after the rendesvous all ships were directed to the Planetary system of Tellar. The battle for Tellar was now underway. The Dauntless and Ticonderoga were assigned to making inroads to the inner system, clearing a path to orbit for the ground-assault teams and forces engaged with Krynar forces. Dauntless soon became engaged with a large force of shard fighters. Shortly after the first wave of fighters, the Dauntless became pretty battle weary, and was significantly damaged. The Dauntless, getting rather lucky, managed to dispatch the remaining shards, and had played a major role in clearing the path to orbit for the ground-assault teams and forces. Before the crew of the Dauntless was finished being on the frontlines of the battle field, they were able to destroy a Krynar mothership. They were able to achieve this with the help of information passed on by other higher ranking members of Star fleet.

The Dauntless then returned to Starbase Bravo, for a refit and repairs. During this time the ship underwent and minor change in command as well as taking on a few more new recuits, and crew members. With the ship fixed, the crew refreshed, and command now ready, it was time for the Dauntless to head back out on mission. This time they were sent to Yadalla Prime, yet again. This time they were entasked to retrieve Star fleet personel, and equipment. Shortly after having arrived to Yadalla Prime, and learning of a disease going around that only effected Romulan's, Lance recieved an emergency transmission and had to immediately return to Earth do to the recent death of his only living relative left. His brother Travis. With whom he had just recent been reunited with. After finally getting everything straightened out on Earth, Lancepaul made the arduous journey back to the USS Dauntless, which he was fortunate enough to catch up with at Yadalla Prime before they left back for Bravo. Once aboard the Dauntless, Lancepaul quickly got back to work meeting up with the newest Dauntless science offer. The officer had come aboard during Lancepaul's absence but from what Lancepaul found out was rather instrumentel in curing the mysterious disease effecting the Romulans on Yadalla Prime.

Just days after having arrived back aboard the Dauntless, Lancepaul and the rest of the crew were reunited with the familiar sight of star base bravo. Currently on shore leave, Lancepaul found himself having a good time forgetting the painful memories of his leave, due to the most excellent party for the crew that was being thrown by the current first officer Theodore Caldecott.

After making quite an impression at the party, the Dauntless was assigned a new commanding officer. This time it was a Klingon by the name of Captain Torgh. Before the start of our next mission, I had a meeting with him. It was here where he decided wether or not a battle cruiser actually needed a science department. After having survived the meeting with the new captain and the party, it was time for our next mission.

During our mission briefing we found out that we were supposed to bring a diplomat to Celes II for negotiations regarding Dillithuim crystals. All of the crew, including the Captain and myself, felt that this was a waste of resources for the battle cruiser. In fact we all felt that this mission was beneath us. However, shortly before arriving at Celes II we found out just how wrong we were.

The Dauntless was surprisingly attacked and disabled. Our Captain kidnapped, and an biologically engineered disease created during the Argillian conflict somehow got released aboard the Dauntless.

After making what repairs that could be made, and after a long drawn out ordeal in sickbay. We were able to rescue the Captain. Unfortunately we were unable to create a vaccine for this newly rediscovered, bilogically engineered virus.

Currently the Dauntless is in orbit above the Planet Celes II. We have been dismissed for shore leave either on ship, or planet side, after an awards ceremony for promotions and medals.
