Personal History

While pregnant with Sring, T’Nara was accidentally exposed to radiation from a single molecule of proto-matter decay, while part of the ongoing Genesis investigation that was now over one hundred standard years old. For the 1st three years of life, Sring appeared the typical Vulcan female child. After that however, her physical growth rate had become stunted.

Sring’s body effectively stopped growing once she achieved puberty. But inversely proportional to her small size, her retention capabilities were outstanding, well beyond even Vulcan norms. Anything Sring observed or read was imprinted into her mind as if she were a computer. She became adept at advanced mathematics and physics at age 4. Also, her father being part of Star Fleet, Sring adopted his profound curiosity and admiration for humans.

Sring was usually shunted aside by her peers, as being ‘damaged goods’ but her father was instrumental in keeping up her self esteem and valued her above most else. Because of her physical stature and unique brain tissue formation, nerve pinches and mind-melds were rated as consistently poor; and were well below typical Vulcan norms.

Sring completed all pre-Star Fleet academics by 15 years of age, and with considerable maneuverings by her mother and father, Sring was permitted to take the initial entrance exam. Her scores in temporal dynamics and her incredible knowledge base proved too valuable to let slip away; and so Sring was accepted into the Academy (albeit on a provisional basis).

Upon graduation, and known as an authority on Temporal Mechanics, Sring was specifically chosen by the Science Department of the USS Copernicus after the ship’s amazing travels to the Large Magellanic Cloud and back.

Upon the cusp of her 21st birthday, Sring experienced pon farr symptoms (a rare occurrence in Vulcan females, but not totally unknown) and went through the experience with a fellow crew member, Science Officer Raquel Huntur. The experience was more of a ‘date rape’ incident, but had the desired restorative effect. Sring never reported the incident.

At age 23, she was severely injured on an away team mission to the surface of the sentient planet Tekna; but had made a subsequent full recovery. Sring has no conscious memory of being impaled by a piece of sword-like window debris; having entered a state of shock virtually instantaneously.

Her most recent tasks at age 24, had been assisting Commander Gloria Dys in her endeavors to return to her future space-time line.

Personality Profile

Academy Major(s): Temporal Mechanics, General Science
Academy Minor(s): Sociology, History (human/Earth focus)
Hobbies and Pastimes: Reads all updates to the LCARS Science database
Sense of Humor: has an initial understanding of what humans find as ‘funny’
Phobias: none
Likes: interaction with humans (and to a lesser extent other humanoids)
Achievements: Doctorate in Temporal Equilibrium and Paradox
Illnesses: Exposure to proto-matter decay radiation while in utero, resulting in small physical size, poor telepathic abilities; though offset with superior memory capacity
Strengths: Walking LCARS Science database, substantial temporal mechanics understanding
Weaknesses: poor nerve pinch capability (only gives a headache to the recipient), poor telepathy capability (can initiate contact, but has no leadership ability, subject can take over the melding process)
Prejudices: None
Off Duty Clothing Tastes: Almost always in uniform, simple Vulcan robes otherwise
Distinguishing Features: Diminutive frame, though proportioned in scale
Pets: None
Friends: none from childhood

Personal Paradigm Shifts

Most Painful Experience: The loss of Mid David Kromanhock (on Tekna). Sring had developed very strong, though well controlled emotions for her fellow Science colleague. David had been in love with her; by his own admission. It was a human emotional state that Sring had been tempted to explore. In its place she discovered profound grief.
Best Time: The investigation of the former, temporally transplanted Copernicus’ First Officer Commander Avark. The knowledge that she had gained from the study of the Klingon FO’s time displacements, prepared her for the arrival Commander Dys and the arrival of the future John Zenteal and the ‘original’ Ens Dys.
Role Model: Her father, in putting the IDIC into practice, how to be an excellent Star Fleet Officer and accepting oneself as they are. Also, LCdr Vreean Tru-Abaa, her favorite Chief Science Officer, who demonstrated utmost facilities in the sciences, integrity and courage.
