Personal History

The transport carrying Torian’s father and pregnant mother along with other El-Aurian refugees who were heading to Earth following their escape from the Borg was caught up in the Nexus energy ribbon near the Sol system.

Fortunately, the USS Enterprise-B was on a shakedown cruise nearby and was able to rescue some of the refugees. All of the excitement caused his mother to go into labor and not long after arriving on the Enterprise-B, Torian was born.

His family settled in San Francisco on Earth and for the first eighteen years of his life, his parents taught at the University of San Francisco. After his eighteenth birthday, Torian’s parents left the university and took their son on an eighty-two year sabbatical of the galaxy; their travels took them to the Alpha, Beta, and Gamma quadrants. On this adventure, Torian was introduced to worlds and cultures of many species.

When he turned one-hundred, still very young in El-Aurian years, Torian decided to attend Star Fleet Academy. His parents were pleased that their son not only graduated but also earned two PHD’s in his six years at the Academy.

Upon graduation, Torian was selected to be part of a special scientific team to go the Ba’ku home planet and study the Ba’Ku. Unlike previously, the Ba’ku knew about the study and welcomed them into their society. For the next eleven years, he lived among the Ba’ku studying their sociology and culture. With the mission completed, he decided to take a position in the Cadet Evaluations Department at Star Fleet Academy.

Though he was away living on Ba’ku the events involving the Borg invading the Sol system disturbed him greatly. It reminded him of what had happened to his own people and their struggles with the Borg. Fortunately, the Sol System was much more fortunate that his ancestors home system.
