Personal History

Natalia was born and raised in Donetsk, Ukraine, The only child of Alexander and Katherine Simonova . She gained her love of flight from first watching birds and wishing when she was young as she grew older she took an interest in more mechanical means of flying at the age of 10 she told her parents she would be joining Starfleet and would be a Captain one day.

At the age of 14 the family moved to Vallor I on the edge of the area known as the Badlands, she started working with her uncle spraying crops from an old aircraft, by 15 she was easily the best pilot working for the company.

She never had time for personal relationships and although she did have a few very close friends, but it was a small circle. From this age her one goal was joining the Academy and becoming a member of Starfleet, she would spend all her free time studying for the entrance exam.

The 18 year old Natalia joined the Academy. Natalia did well at the Academy coming in top 10% in most of her classes and as she expected finding it very easy to fly everything apart from the Valkyrie fighters which took her many more sessions to get used to and also led to the black mark on her

record after she did a victory roll over the Academy Flight School. This event almost cost her career and made her have to resit her final exam on this class. It was a tough lesson to learn and since that day she has not been as cocky as she was before it. She also had issues taking orders when she thought she knew a better option, over her time at the Academy she came to realise that no matter what she thought she did not always know better and as she has matured, she has come to appreciate other officers, although she is still quick to offer her opinion.

Her first assignment upon graduation was to the USS Prometheus as a pilot of all the auxiliary craft on board. The time on the Prometheus was thrilling for her but she never got to fly the one ship she really wanted, The Prometheus itself.

Her transfer to the USS Valentine came along with her promotion to Ensign, She was flying with her new captain in a runabout when they came under fire, her actions in the conflict impressed Arthur Morgan so much that he told her he wanted her to report to the bridge, once they returned to the Valentine. The captain told her to take the seat at the Helm and had his helm officer sit with her until she was comfortable at the controls. Over the course of the next 2 years she spent many hours flying the ship and Captain Morgan mentored her on becoming a Bridge Officer. Her time there was probably the best of her life, but it also provided the worst, when her father took ill, she was on a mission and too far away to get back to say goodbye to him before he died.

Then came the biggest shock for her when Captain Morgan promoted her to Lt JG and told her he had put her name forward for the vacant CTO position on the USS Charon.
