Science laboratory

A science laboratory (for short, science lab or simply, lab) is any area set up for work in experimental or observational science.

Areas like these are commonplace aboard explorational vessels such as Federation starships, space stations and outposts, under the auspices of Star Fleet's sciences division.

A science lab could be a general purpose science lab, or could be composed of a number of dedicated facilities studying difference disciplines, or be composed of both.
