Personal History
Raessa was one of a litter of 7 specific brothers and sisters. In the Mirak society, everyone in the clan is considered related, so she was always surrounded by family. Medicine and healing always interested her, especially as she was drawn to the great hunters of her world. She knew she could never be one, her stature and size much too small, but she could provide a valuable service by healing those that achieved the ultimate honor. Applying herself, she became a healer early at the young age of only 14, 2 years before the average Mirak achieved their career goals. After a few years, she and a well known female hunt leader, Jural, became close, and had an affair. They were discovered, and it was a disastrous event for the warrior. Jural turned her back on Raessa, claiming the healer had drugged and tricked her into the affair. Raessa, with a broken heart, broken career and broken dreams, fled from Oranth and joined Star Fleet. Although she possessed skills in healing Mirak, she found that the skills did not easily translate to other Federation species. Having had too much experience with being stared at by her own people, she found the curious stares of her new Star Fleet Peers too much and decided to go into research. There, she could hide in a lab and interact with only a few people.
