Sakuro's Disease

A rare illness resembling leukemia that is thought to be caused by a virus or bacteria originating on Epsilon Canaria III.

The incubation period is anywhere from 1 week to 1 month. It is characterized by replacement of the bone marrow by primitive or stem cells of the blood-forming series. There are no symptoms in the first stage of the disease, but in later stages an abrupt fever will occur. Infection of the mouth, throat or lungs may occur. Progressive weakness and enlargement of liver, spleen and lymph nodes happen next. Respiration become erratic, blood pressure drops, and delirium occurs.

If not treated, death occurs a few hours after critical stage. The disease is completely curable before onset of the critical stage, and symptoms should be treated with simple drugs.
