IMPORTANT! ABOUT SFSIS/SIS IN GAME AND OUT!
It should be noted that officially there is no such thing as SFSIS or SIS. As far as Star Fleet and the public are concerned, they simply do not exist. Much of what you see below is not listed on any Star Fleet manifest or list anywhere. Operations performed by SFSIS and SIS are the blackest of black, and are not acknowledged (successful or otherwise) by Star Fleet, the Federation, or any individual.
IN GAME NO PC SHOULD EVER REFER TO SFSIS or SIS. SFSIS and SIS are non-entities. Any questions relating to SFSIS or SIS should be directed out of game to either Commodore zh'Matis or Vice Admiral Derrick Grant .
It should also be noted that SFSIS Team Alpha, under the command of Lieutenant Commander T'Kir is no longer under the control of Star Fleet Special Intelligence Services. Team Alpha has gone rogue.
Note: As of Stardate 21106.24 The Star Fleet Special Intelligence Services has been officially terminated. Former SFSIS Team Alpha, under the Command of former LCdr T'Kir has been released from duty and are considered 'retired with honors'. T'Kir and her team are now part of the Special Intelligence Services.

Game Data – How SFSIS/SIS Works
How do I join SFSIS/SIS?
SFSIS has been designed to be an elite posting group, for persons who have demonstrated consistent quality and regularity in posting, and who have an interest and aptitude in posting covert plot lines. A good candidate should demonstrate initiative, regularity of posting at least 2x/week (this is required of SFSIS/SIS NPC's) and excellent posting quality.
When an SFSIS/SIS commander is looking for recruits, he/she will review in-game posts for quality, frequency, etc. to determine eligibility of certain players. Then he/she will contact the CO of that player requesting an endorsement/recommendation from the CO. If the CO endorses the player being in SFSIS, then the SFSIS commander will contact the player and begin a recruitment discussion.
Players may also contact the SFSIS/SIS commander and inquire about positions, however in this case they should have a character concept already figured out, and be ready to "sell" the SFSIS commander on why he/she should hire them. And then the process returns to above, where the SFSIS/SIS commander will contact their CO to discuss things. Upon conclusion, if it is mutually agreed that the player would make a good addition and that their posting with their PC is adequate, then they may be hired, at the discretion of the SFSIS/SIS commander.
Can my player character (PC) be part of SFSIS/SIS?
Generally, no. Certain player characters might be recruited for specific tasks, but usually will be told that it is a Star Fleet Intelligence operation that they are working on. SFSIS/SIS, as mentioned above "does not exist". It is nowhere in the Star Fleet charter or records, and it's very existence is kept a secret. Therefore we can't have PC's running around on it's payroll.
That said, there are VERY FEW exceptions to this. Generally these are persons in command of ships that host SFSIS/SIS personnel.
Can my character know about SFSIS or SIS?
Again, generally no. Because SFSIS and SIS "does not exist" then anyone not part of the organization will be provided with a cover story as to the activities if they are found out. Generally this we will use Star Fleet Intelligence as our cover, as every member of SFSIS also holds a SF:I identification.
