Personality Profile

Academy Major(s): Strategic Operations, Battlefield Tactics
Academy Minor(s): Administration, Logistics
Hobbies and Pastimes: Elizabeth considers herself an amateur archeologist, often using vacation time to visit archeological sites and digs or attend lectures at universities. She enjoys studying the history of forgotten cultures, and appreciates the value of remembering the past.
Short-Term Goals: Help find and implement a solution to the Kynar crisis.
Long-Term Goals: Leave the universe in a better state for her grandchildren’s generation.
Personality: On the outside, Riley appears to most to be the rough, tough-as-nails, no-nonsense General that she is expected to be. She bluntly communicates what is expected, and rarely tolerates failure. But those that come know her personally soon discover that while she is a very strong-spirited woman, she is nowhere near as gruff as she makes herself out to be professionally. Deep-down, she is a caring and compassionate woman.
Sense of Humor: Professionally, her sense of humor is hardly ever seen, but in a personal setting she finds herself appreciating light-hearted, witty banter, especially on an intellectual level.
Phobias: None
Likes: Fine Coffees, Earth classical era music, reading archeological journals, and spending time with her grandchildren
Dislikes: “Frilly” fashion, brewed beverages, incompetence
Pet Peeves or Gripes: Seeing someone rewarded for their incompetence or otherwise receiving unearned recognition
Bad Habits or Vices: Smoking, Caffeine-addiction
Achievements: Was awarded the Purple Heart, the Distinguished Service Globe, and promoted to Brigadier General for her actions during the Borg war as her regiment was overrun during the final ground battle of the war.
Illnesses: After receiving a partial dose of nanoprobes during the Borg War, she has experienced several illnesses and conditions related to the failed assimilation
Strengths: Riley is a brilliant strategist, tactician, and logistician with the experience to back it up. She is just as at home in the war room, or in the field HQ.
Weaknesses: Her advancing age has left her beyond her prime. Her endurance, stamina, and overall strength are significantly less then they were in her prime.
Fears: After her mental brush with the collective, Riley has come to fear anything that clouds her mind or her judgement. She still occasionally has flashbacks and nightmares about her days during the Borg War.
Prejudices: Riley tends to see Starfleet enlisted and officers as “inferior” to their Marine counterparts, though this is less of a true prejudice, and more accurately pride in her Marines.
Off Duty Clothing Tastes: Terran fashion, leaning toward pantsuits
Distinguishing Features: A scar along the side of her neck beneath the collar, remnants of a failed assimilation attempt
Pets: None
Friends: Keeps in contact with her children and her father, and considers her closest aides and contemporaries to be personal friends, but maintains few other “non-professional” relationships.

Personal Paradigm Shifts

Most Painful Experience: The excruciating experience of nearly being assimilated, and the subsequent procedures that prevented its success.
Best Time: After giving birth to her children, and seeing her grandchildren for the first time.
Most Crucial Experience: Her husband’s decision to be a stay-at-home father.
Role Model: Admiral Kathryn Janeway
