Ra'tleihfi was the capital city of the planet Romulus and the seat of government for the Romulan Star Empire until 2411 when Romulus was abandoned in advance of a shockwave from a supernova that threatened to devastate the planet. The Hall of State, where the Romulan Senate met, was located in the city's center.
Originally founded on marshy land, the city's first inhabitants built their houses on stilts around mudwork. This older part of the city remained its central core, around which it expanded outwards.
