Personal History

Born and raised on a small farm in Iuruth on ch'Rihan, H'Daen is the oldest of three children, though only two survived. Even though Iuruth is a poor town, Galan encouraged his children to have an education. H'Daen excelled in science classes, mainly astrometrics. His brothers were decent students, but H'Daen was the brightest.

As one of the few "browless" Romulans, H'Daen was constantly harassed in school. His classmates tried to convince him he was a wannabe Romulan. That he was an adopted Vulcan and not true member of Romulan society, hence living in the poor town. Havraha, who did have a brow, always defended his brother. According to Havraha, not having a brow made H'Daen unique among the rest of the Rihan. The two brothers had a very tight bond because of this.

Galan and Jaeih essentially sold the family as workers for the s'Tei Clan. It was the only way for all three brothers to attend school. They all worked the farm after classes got out to help their parents with the farm. Their s'Tei "employer" taxed the R'Mor family to near exhaustion. With each month of service, more was expected of the overworked family.

Disappointed with the farm’s lack of productivity, the s'Tei sent Maec to work in the dilithium mines on Remus when H'Daen was 18 years old. Maec mysteriously died in the mines a few months later. The Tal Shiar investigation labeled the death an accident, but H'Daen doesn’t buy the story. He holds the Tal'Shiar responsible for his brother’s death but doesn’t dare voice his opinion, nor does he have any evidence.

The s'Tei were not about let the R'Mor off easily. In an attempt to save his family, H'Daen made a deal with the Clan. He would serve in the Galae, provided his family's debt was considered paid off. As long as he serves, his family is debt free. The Clan was well aware of H'Daen's intellect and potential. His work for the Empire would certainly add influence and honor to the s'Tei. Agreeing to the proposition, H'Daen was put through the Academy. Tal'Shiar agents were sent to burglarize the farmstead. Out of fear from the Tal'Shiar, the remaining R'Mor turned to the s'Tei for protection. They were again forced to work the land as compensation. To insure his continued cooperation, the s'Tei blackmailed H'Daen. Havraha would also be sent to the Reman mines if H'Daen planned to break his deal.

Betrayed by both groups, H'Daen had no choice but to comply. Communications from Havraha proved he hadn't been abducted, but he feared he would be sent to the mines each day.

H'Daen previously was assigned to the science ship Hidden Agenda. There, he worked on refining cloaking technology to reduce the amount of tachyon particles emitted. He also worked on masking the ion trails from cloaked ships. His research is still ongoing. He was transferred to the RIS Shadowhawk by the insistence of the s'Tei Clan. His presence on the new battle cruiser would somehow advance their own agenda in the Senate. H'Daen was surprisingly relieved for the transfer, because he was tired of his old crewmates.

H'Daen wants only two things in the universe: complete freedom from the s'Tei for his family, and to be accepted as a Romulan even without the brow. These two goals make him extremely compassionate towards others in his situation. In that sense, he may be a pushover in certain situations. On the other hand, it instills a strong sense of honor in him.

Personal Paradigm Shifts

Most Painful Experience: Receiving the investigation report on his youngest brother's death. Officially, another miner hit him with a mining tool. He has no proof. H'Daen believes the killer was a Tal'Shiar agent sent to make sure the debt was still owed. He has no proof, so he dares not voice his opinion. It is because of this vendetta, H'Daen offered to serve the s'Tei in the Imperial Fleet|Galae. He hopes that he can one day find the truth and free his family
Most Crucial Experience: Same as Most Painful
Role Model: Surprisingly, his younger brother, Havraha, is his role model. Despite the all the threats made against their family, Havraha has remained hopeful. H'Daen draws his strength from his brother. He has no idea what he would if his only remaining brother was taken from him too. He does not serve for the s'Tei, but for his brother.
