Psychotectic Therapy is a treatment used by the J'naii culture that was used to eliminate gender-specific sexuality. The J'naii consider such behavior as "abnormal," as the whole race is androgynous.

This treatment eliminates all psychological elements of gender identity, and involves the extensive rewiring of the neural pathways.

Commonly considered as medically helpful among the J'naii, even the "reluctant deviants" were grateful after they were treated.
With a high success rate, if the individual in treatment was unwilling to admit having the urges, the treatments have a lesser chance of being successful.

In 2368, a J'naii shuttle pilot named Soren was forcibly given psychotectic therapy after confessing to an orientation of female gender identity, and a subsequent attraction to a Federation officer.
After the therapy, Soren spoke of being amazed to not have noticed the sickness of the deviant condition, and felt sorry for the Starfleet officer, who had fallen in love.
