Personal History

Ellie is the youngest (and only girl) in a family of four children. Her parents were both civilians who were born and raised on Earth. Her father was a high school Math teacher and her mother was a Physician’s Assistant for a non-Star Fleet hospital.

Ellie was a naturally intelligent and very competitive girl. Ellie attributed her competitiveness to always competing with her three older brothers. Her brother’s in typical big brother fashion constantly bugged her while pummeling anyone else who tried.

Ellie always took her education seriously. This was likely attributed to the fact that her father was a teacher (who thus always knew how she was doing in school) and her mother was in the medical field and thus modeled hard work on a daily basis.

Ellie was not only dedicated to her studies but also very dedicated to athletics. While in school she played basketball, softball, and volleyball. Ellie did not have the same talent for athletics as she did education but to Ellie that simply meant that she had to put in hours of extra time. For Ellie, what she lacked in natural talent she made up for with hard work and practice.

It was therefore not surprising that Ellie graduated the top of her class and gave the Valedictorian speech at her high school. After High School Ellie immediately started in Star Fleet Academy. She had decided to join Star Fleet two years earlier and her decision had been supported whole heartedly by her parents.

Ellie’s hard work and determination made her a perfect fit for the Academy. Although she had plenty of fun during her four years, especially with her roommate Jessica Adams, she greatly enjoyed the structure and discipline that came along with the Academy.

Once again Ellie graduated at the top of her class. This was largely due to the fact that she logged more hours in the library and training holodecks than any two other people in her class combined. Somewhere during her third year at the Academy Ellie had developed a hunger to prove herself in her future career. This desire started in a “History of the Federation” course while learning about some of Star Fleet’s most decorated officers. The thought of cadets one day reading about her and her accomplishments pushed her to do everything as perfectly as she could. She constantly lived with the thought of “How will this chapter of my life read?” which usually caused her to put fun to the side and work to the front.

After graduating the Academy Ellie was assigned to a Light Cruiser as a Junior Tactical Officer and she received great real life experience operating tactical consoles on the bridge and piloting shuttles and other vessels.

Like many vessels the Light Cruiser eventually found itself in battle with the Krynar and while the Star Fleet crew survived the battle the ship was severely damaged and required several months of repairs. The crew of the ship was temporarily spread to other vessels and Ellie, now a Lieutenant JG, was assigned to lead the tactical department of the skeleton crew which was delivering the USS Yeager to Star Base Delta where the full crew would be taking over.

Upon arriving to Star Base Delta Ellie was informed that the Yeager’s previous Chief Tactical Officer had been reassigned (which was common during a time of war) and that Ellie was being named the Acting Chief Tactical Officer until a more permanent replacement could be found.

Ellie of course saw this as a great potential to advance her career and as a new chapter in the book that would one day be written about her time in Star Fleet.
