Raised by a human, due to this he prefers the company of humans to his own species. When he was a little older he got into a fight with another Mirak over a mate where he received a scar that covers his entire face. (Should have seen the other guy.) Although he won the fight his new mate died soon after mysteriously. His “father” sent him to Star Fleet Academy when he was about 20 years old. Mathias had always found fighter pilots to be fascinating, since he was a cub, so naturally he, majored in fighter piloting.
