Charlotte was born on the island of Trinidad in the Caribbean sea, Earth to a local marine biologist, Lani Sirvi, and her freight captain husband, Keto Sirvi. Charli’s father was never around, he felt uncomfortable on Earth with his mixed heritage, even though he’d been raised there. He abandoned his family within the first two years of Charli’s life, leaving his wife, step-daughter, and two daughters to fend for themselves.
Charli’s mother fell apart after he left, which left the three girls to virtually fend for themselves. She consistently came home drunk, and brought more than one abusive boyfriends with her. Charli withdrew socially as this cycle progressed. When she was old enough, her school work suffered even though she was highly intelligent girl. She was also teased for being a mixed breed, which caused her to react with anger. She was constantly in trouble for being rebellious and headstrong.
It wasn’t until she was 7 that her mother found a stable and decent guy in Drue Sylva, which gave some stability to Charli’s life. At that point, life resembled something normal for the first time in years. Charli became the outgoing and friendly girl she was intended to be, although she still had difficulty trusting others. Academically, she began to excel surpassing peers after only a year. She still remained rebellious and headstrong, but she curbed it into more appropriate behavior.
At the age of 12, her five years of peace ended abruptly with the death of her family, except her older sister, in a botched home invasion. She was immediately sent to live with her father’s younger adopted sister and her family in Lihue, Hawaii. It was an awkward arrangement for Charli to live with the sister of the man who abandoned her as a child, and even more awkward when Malia and her husband, Keanu, were only 12 years older than her. That age closeness made their relationship more like that of siblings. In Hawaii, Charli had free reign to do as she liked. She excelled in school, managing to stay at the top of her class, but her true passion was in finding adventure and ignoring the risks. Between school and working as a waitress at one of Keanu’s string of bars, she tried sport after sport. She developed into an amazing surfer with her success being credited to her lack of fear when performing some of her more risky maneuvers. When she couldn’t surf, she’d play tennis and soccer, do yoga, and practice martial arts or anything that could give her that thrill she loved. As she got older, she became more reckless, her way of dealing with her survivor guilt.
At the age of 16, she began tending bar at one of Keanu’s places. She loved dealing with the people, and had almost a sixth sense when it came to their moods. They were easy to related to and were free with their stories, never asking anything from her but a good a drink. When she graduated from high school, she moved to Mexico, looking for adventure. She found it tending a bar in a small cantina on the coast. She was happy there for two years before she became restless.
It was one of her extremely drunk patrons recounting his tales of glory from his years in Star Fleet that implanted the idea of joining Star Fleet into her head, a solution for her growing restlessness. It was an idea that ate away at her until she finally gave in. She was accepted into the Academy shortly before her 20th birthday, and it was hardly a decision to choose security as it would offer her the best chance at finding the excitement she was looking for. She remained at the top of her class all throughout the Academy, and graduated with honors.
She was placed onto the Special Operations team assigned to Outpost 165, an outpost that dealt with frequent problems involving the Orion Syndicate. She remained there for a year, during which she was promoted to ensign for bravery in the line of duty. However, the circumstances under which she was transferred off are unknown except for by a few privileged individuals. She found herself transferred back to Earth as a strategy specialist for the Search and Rescue team assigned to Sector 001. However, her tenure on Earth was also short lived as she officially requested a transfer to the USS Titan after only a year. According to scuttle butt, it was the only way her two supervisors could ensure that she avoided formal reprimand for one of her more stunts

Short-Term Goals: Survive her first ship bound assignment
Long-Term Goals: Make something of herself
Personality: Outwardly, Charli appears to be extremely friendly and outgoing, but has a way with being able to be friendly and engaging while giving as little of herself to the conversation as possible. It probably developed from her years as a bartender. She has the potential to be extremely sarcastic but she tries not to be offensive when she can. She’s extremely slow to trust, and has heard too many stories in her life to take most people at their word. She’s a highly intelligent person, who can grasp ideas and strategies quickly, but she doesn’t use it to draw attention to herself unless necessary. She’s blunt and says things as she sees them. She can be extremely rebellious and headstrong under the right circumstances. She’s known to house quite the reckless streak
Sense of Humor: Quick witted and sharp. She normally always has a comeback ready, and uses sarcasm at every chance. She loves a good prank and can laugh at most things but her humor can seem very biting and inappropriate at times.

Personal Paradigm Shifts
Most Painful Experience: The death of her family was Charli’s most painful experience. She had to live with the guilt of their deaths while continuing to push through her own life. It showed her an inner strength she didn’t know she had, and she’s managed to survive and overcome the experience.
Best Time: The best time of Charlie’s life would either be her time in Hawaii or her time in Mexico. Both represented a period of her life where she was her only concern, and she could do as pleased. It gave her a chance to find herself without all the responsibility she’d had before
Most Crucial Experience: Her most crucial experience was how she dealt with the abuse from her early childhood. Those moments had a long lasting impact on her life. She doesn’t allow herself or anyone around her to be treated like they are nothing, and she won’t stand for disrespect
Role Model: She doesn’t know if there is really any one person who has been a role model for her, but the closest thing she has is Marcia Knowles, the woman who owned the diner down the street from where she grew up. Marcia would always send her grandson to get Charli and her sisters after their mom would leave them for the day and they’d spend the day at the diner. She always made sure they had food, and tried to care for them as well as she could
