Personal History
Yuri Nymesky was born in St. Petersburg, Russia on Earth. Neither of his parents was involved with Star Fleet and he had never given much thought to a career there until he went with his father on a trip to Starbase One when he was 13.
From that point on, he felt drawn to the stars. Before only a mediocre student, he increased his efforts in school and was accepted to Star Fleet Academy on his second attempt. Yuri decided to pursue a career in Tactical and was assigned as the weapons officer on the destroyer USS De Gaulle upon his graduation.
After serving on several other Star Fleet vessels, Commander Nymesky was eventually assigned to the post of Tactical Defense Officer of SBA after the Second Federation/Romulan War. After serving at the post for five years with distinction, he was promoted to the rank of Captain and assigned as Deputy Commander by Admiral Lance Odell on Stardate 20607.01.
Sometime shortly after Stardate 20607.01, Yuri was captured by Satarran infiltrators and replaced with an impostor as part of a large conspiracy to gain control of key Federation leadership positions. He was held in a secret location on Earth and tortured for nine months while his double used his position on SBA to place other Satarran agents on ships and starbases around the sector. He was rescued on Stardate 20704.30 by Commander Derrick Grant, SBA’s Chief of Security who initially discovered the alien plot.

Friends: Yuri’s childhood best friend was his neighbor, Alex. They attended the same schools, but when Yuri left to join Star Fleet, they lost touch.
