“Fire!” Captain Mark Perez shouted as he could see the Romulan bird of prey's hull get sliced open by the phaser salvo that he launched right on the bridge. The Newton was not meant for combat, being a Galactic Exploration Cruiser, she only had two banks of phasers and one photon torpedo launcher. Being out gunned and also outnumbered, the Einstein had to rely on her superior maneuverability to survive in the fight of their lives. “The bridge has been compromised, they're disabled.” Ensign Charlie Bradly shouted amongst the chaos. Dead bodies filled the bridge of the Einstein. The First Officer, Chief Tactical Officer, Chief of Security and the Chief Engineer were killed in the first salvo. Everyone on the bridge, with the exception of the Captain and the Ensign, were Midshipman. “There's another one coming in at four o'clock low!” Midshipman Lewis Yates, sitting at operations. Captain Mark was not 100 percent healthy either. His face was bleeding from the forehead and some of his teeth were knocked out of his mouth. “Head straight for them evasively at ramming speed, ready on photon torpedoes.”

The Einstein swung around and managed to dodge most of the incoming fire. A phaser blast though did make a direct hit on their hull, causing the whole ship to rock. “Stay on target!” Capitan Perez shouted. “Sickbay took a direct hit!” Midshipman Olga Finley shouted, sitting at the Engineering station. All of them are looking up at the view screen. Ever since the combat started the Captain has ordered maneuvers that was one of desperation. Games of chicken and blood turning tight turns pushed the crew, and the ship, to their limits. The inside of the ship was ravaged just like the outside of the ship. There have already been numerous reports of sections being compromised, yet one was thinking about how many of their fellow crew members were killed. “2000 kilo's...1000...500...they're turning hard to port!” The tactical display saw that the shield generators were the one's targeted. “Fire torpedoes!” The Newton's torpedo launchers launched at the more heavily shielded war bird. The blast shook the Newton and the Romulan war bird's shields finally gave way. After the twenty minutes of combat, the exhausted crew were doing what the Galactic Exploration Cruiser was not designed to do.

“Direct hit, their shields are gone!” Ensign Bradly called out, his voice becoming horse. “Turn about to port and fire at their life support systems!” Suddenly an alarm went off and a great explosion surrounded the bridge. Screams were quickly silenced as the roof of the bridge was blown out, sucking the bridge crew out of the ship and into space. Captain Perez, watched as his dead First Officer and his department heads were sucked out into space; he could feel the air rushing out of the Bridge as he grabbed hold of the chair as he closed his eyes grunting. All around him though, he heard the screams of young officers being sucked out into the darkness of space. Suddenly he felt himself fall back onto the deck as the emergency shield took hold. The operations console was destroyed, the engineering and science consoles blew up, and there were sparks flying all around the bridge. He realized he was alone. Crawling over to the tactical console, he saw that the officer switched to quantum torpedoes.

“This is Commander T'lar of the war bird Falcor. You have fought well, but this fight is over. Lower your shields and surrender.” It was on audio only, with Captain Perez bleeding out of his mouth as his teeth were knocked out, he switched to Visual. The Romulans saw Perez, and saw that his bridge was unrecognizable. Perez himself was broken and bloodied, yet as he bled from his mouth, his face was cold, and his eyes fixed on the T'lar. “Remember this face....” Perez then spat blood in his direction. “...when you go to hell, tell them the USS Newton sent you there!” With that, Mark hit the button and he hung on for dear life. The Newton shot forward and using what's left of her superior maneuverability, rolled under the war bird, with her tubes in line straight at the Falcor's belly. Pressing the fire button, he launched his torpedoes at the Falcor. The shining blue torpedoes made contact as parts of the Falcor were blasted away. The Newton rolled away as the Falcor's took a direct hit, causing an irreversible reaction that led to it's destruction. The Newton's shields and Perez soon collapsed over the panel in exhaustion, right as four Federation Heavy Cruisers warped in.
