Personal History

Alex was born on earth, in London, England. He grew up surrounded by friends; he was always popular. He spent most of his younger days involving less popular kids into his and his best friend Thomas's group of friends. Neither of them liked seeing other kids without friends.

His father Thomas worked in the shipyard, and always told him to never to give up, to carry on with whatever you set your mind onto: because no matter how many people tell you that you cannot, you have to prove them wrong.

Because of this Alex has always done this and always looked up to his father and when anyone asks who his role model is he always says his father, not because of what he was taught, but because his father showed him there is no way of being a perfect parent but there are a million ways of being a good one. As his parents were not home during most of the day, Alex had a nanny a lot of the time. While there was a physical and at time emotional distance between Alex and his parents, he was not unloved, and his parents allowed him great latitude to pursue whatever he wished.

Always playing the sport rugby, he received many injuries, most painful being the day he broke his ribs, right arm and right leg as a result of letting his guard down. It was a rugby pitch during that great and exciting game that he and his team mates had the privilege of playing in: Alex had the ball running towards the other team’s goal and he became distracted by his parents when he realized they both managed to get the day off of work to see him play. The other team’s biggest player tackled him sending him flying 3 or 4 meters. Upon his landing on the field of play, he bounced off of his right arm causing multiple fractures in 3 places, and then landing on his right leg, which snapped clean in two, he still had hold of the ball; and as he hit the rolled and bounced to a final stop, his right side had landed the ball causing two of his ribs to break.

As Alex got older, he began deciding on his future, whether to work in the ship yards with his father or on the apple orchards with his mother. Although his parents respected his decisions, they were a bit unhappy he chose Star Fleet over them.

At the age of 16 he decided to sign up for Star Fleet Academy: even at such a young age, Alex possessed a mind that picked up school subjects incredibly easily; and his physical attributes were honed to match other exceptional young men several years older.

Graduating the Academy with honours, he proceeded to take a year’s break from everything (much to the surprise, and minor consternation, of the Academy Commandant and counsellors, but permission was granted for a year reprieve before given a starship assignment).

Before his best friend set away on his ship, Thomas and Alex got matching tattoos of ‘Infinity Times Infinity’; and then Alex explored his home planet (Earth) going to America, Australia and Africa. Along the way, he adopted his dog Rex the Husky. He then decided on going back to Star Fleet in hopes of getting posted on the USS Copernicus as a Tactical officer. Soon, and with great excitement, Alex packed up his stuff, and with tail wagging Rex with him; made the shuttle to SBA, boarded the docked Copernicus, and then settled into their quarters that both call that ship home.
