Personal History

Elaine was born in York, England the only daughter of Samantha and Dustin Montgomery. Her childhood involved a lot of moving as her parents were sent on various field trips to study marine life.

She spent four years in Japan from the age of six and this is where she learnt the language. It was also while she was here that she learnt a small amount of Judo and Tai Chi. The Tai Chi was from her mother who felt that she would benefit from something that would relax her and improve her mind.

It was during their time in Japan that Elaine missed out on an exchange program at York University for students to go to Vulcan. Also, during one of her parents dives she witnessed a shark attack on biologist Ray Halliday and only just avoided being a victim herself after she tried to help him. The result of this traumatic event is that she now has a hatred/fear of Sharks.

Upon their return to England Elaine took up Judo as a pastime, which soon progressed into an obsession after she met Ben and they became competitive to say the least.

When she told her parents of her wish to enter Starfleet Academy in their Science Division they were excited and pleased for her. In fact they did all they could to help her achieve her goal to gain admission.
