Saeihr-hveith Mission 03: "Outpost 12"

From Federation Space - Official Wiki

Mission Summary

The crew's shore leave at Hdrael 41 was interrupted when the RIS Shadowhawk was sent to investigate reports of an attack on Outpost 12, a vital link the war-time supply chain, by the Democratic Romulan Republic. The vessel arrived to find that the outpost had taken extensive damage. Only two survivors were found, and one of those soon died from his injuries. The remaining survivor, S'anra Nai, who at first identified herself as an Operations Officer, was in good condition, but before the away team, led by Arrain I'Dartha, could evacuate her to the Shadowhawk, three rebel ships appeared and attacked, forcing the Imperial vessel to raise shields.

Reinforcements were on the way but still some distance off, and both the Shadowhawk and the Away Team had to hold on until they arrived. The stakes were raised when Nai admitted to being a Tal'Shiar agent with vital information on rebel defenses. The rebels had been chasing her, and she needed to be protected in order to pass her information on to her superiors. After an intense space battle and a brutal combat situation on the station, reinforcements arrived, and the rebel ships were defeated. The Shadowhawk was caught in the explosion of one of the enemy vessels, though, and took a severe beating. erei'Riov V'Tana was seriously injured, and I'Dartha took command to lead the ship to Hdrael 1, where Nai could safely depart.

Shore leave on Hdrael 41 was cut short when the Shadowhawk was sent to aid and defend Outpost 12. A distress call received from the station by Central Command nearly 12 hours ago indicated that the outpost was being attacked by rebels. We arrived a few minutes ago to find it badly damaged. It's listing to one side, and one of its outer arms is mangled and missing the lower section. Power is down to 38% and running on auxiliary. Shields and weapons are offline, and we detect only two survivors out of the 48 crew stationed on the outpost. There's no sign of rebel activity in the area. If they're still out there, they're staying quiet. It looks more like a hit and run operation though. The outpost is a major link in our supply chain during this war, and they appeared to only have been interested in disrupting that chain. An away team is being prepared by Arrain I'Dartha to beam aboard and assess the damage as well as tend to the survivors. Two other Imperial warships will join us shortly. For the moment though, we're on our own.

I must also note that my crew seems to have been a little paranoid over our recent stay at Hdrael 41. Arrain R'Mor was attacked, apparently the victim of a woman whom he picked up in a bar, but I'Dartha and S'Ten feel it may have been more than that. I'm not so sure. The woman in question does have a criminal record, but she's been clean the past several years. There's no evidence to link her to the crime other than circumstantial. Also, Erein S'Tokkr was approached by a Ferengi trader who attempted to sell him a live animal of some type. Immediately after talking with S'Tokkr, the trader made his way to the Shadowhawk's docking station and tried to sell something to the guards on duty at the gangplank. I admit that this has a more suspicious aspect to it than R'Mor's incident. I'Dartha is concerned they may be linked though. We've alerted Dheno on Hdrael 41 of our suspicions, but we have yet to hear back from them. I'm assuming they've uncovered nothing of value.

Now that the Shadowhawk has been brought back into service after its second shakedown cruise, we've been assigned to the Fourth Division of the Galae s'Shiar under command of Enriov Kaenmie. Hdrael 41 will be our home base. I've met with Kaenmie, and he seems competent if perhaps a bit too concerned with appearances. The Fourth Fleet is at the forefront of the war against the rebels and the Lloann'mhrahel, and I'm sure we'll see significant action in the future. That's what this ship was built for, after all, and I look forward to serving the Shiar by commanding it in battle once again.

The galae has also undergone a departmental restructuring. S'Ten is now head of the new Sciences Division. He has made R'Mor the assistant Chief of Sciences. I'Dartha heads Operations, which encompasses both dheno and engineering. Tactical has moved to within the Command Division and is under my direct control. I think these realignments will help streamline operations on the ship and throughout the fleet, and I hope the rest of the crew feels the same.

No sooner had the away team beamed onto the station then the Shadowhawk found itself under attack from two decloaking Dvoridex Class Warbirds. The first barrage of ra'faicol weapons fire took us by surprise and reduced dorsal shielding as well as knocked aft sensors offline, leaving us with a blind spot. We attempted to cloak while the two vessels were making a turn for their second attack, but a third ship, a Pvash class heavy cruiser, was apparently waiting for us to do just that. It caught us as our shields were coming down and came at us from our blind spot. It fired on us down our spine and destroyed part of the upper midsection.

After we finally managed to cloak, a second Pvash class heavy cruiser decloaked alongside the outpost. I'Dartha reported that the station had been boarded, and that they were preparing for a confrontation. The ra'faicol boarding party raised the outpost's shields, trapping the away team and making a quick extraction impossible. I'm unwilling to give up on them however and hope to find a way to get them out. The Shadowhawk is outnumbered though, and it has been a difficult battle.

We've tried several maneuvers to varying degrees of success. We attempted to fake a temporary cloaking device failure to draw the ra'faicol ships away from the station. We would then make a run for the outpost and attack the cruiser guarding it. As we got into position though, the enemy began to use some type of torpedo delivered charge to locate us. We've never seen this type of device, and before we had time to react, we were detected and attacked again by the warbirds. We took more damage to the upper midsection, losing three decks.

We began our run on the outpost as planned however, but as we did so we noticed that one of the warbirds was having difficulty. Its shields were failing, and it had some type of weapons malfunction, causing them damage when they exploded under one of its nacelles. We changed course and attacked it, and we managed to inflict further damage on the ship. The ra'faicol heavy cruiser finished the job for us though. They apparently didn't want us getting a look at their ship should we board it. That means they're probably hiding something. I'm curious as to what.

We cloaked after the attack and changed our tactics. We continued to make a run for the outpost, only this time we weren't trying to attack the cruiser guarding it. The ra'faicol probably expect us to do just that, so instead we attacked the station itself in an attempt to bring its shields down. If we can beam out our away team, we can withdraw and wait for reinforcements.

Our first run wasn't successful though, and we took further damage to the upper midsection. Our shields were also severely weakened, and we face an overload that could cripple the cloaking device. We were forced to turn away from the outpost before we could finish our task, and we're currently heading towards a nearby gas giant, where we can conceal our presence while we make repairs. Hopefully the other two Imperial ships will arrive soon, and we can end this. I'm trying to buy us some time at the moment by bluffing the enemy vessel's commanders.

As we neared the gas giant, we finally received word from our support vessels. They were still some ways out though, and the ra'faicol managed to intercept our transmissions and jam them, so we couldn't communicate fully with the two Imperial ships. Unfortunately, that also meant the ra'faicol knew that we were all alone. We had to devise a plan to make them think otherwise.

In order to trick the enemy into believing that our reinforcements had actually arrived, we devised a method to alter the transponders of two shuttles to produce the signatures of much larger vessels. If we launched them in the gas giant's atmosphere, the interference provided by the gases might mask the launching, and the ra'faicol would be unable to confirm our ploy. That might at least have kept them on their toes while we made repairs and offered some protection to the away team on the outpost. Thankfully, the Terrha'kaevr and the Ghoyiph arrived before we could launch the shuttles though, and we didn't have to implement our plan. We devised a new one in which the Shadowhawk would lure the ra'faicol vessels to decloak, making easy targets for the Terrha'kaevr and the Ghoyiph.

One of the ra'faicol cruisers was leaking an ion trail, and the Shadowhawk targeted it. Though the ion trail turned out be a ruse, the plan achieved its goal. The enemy vessels all decloaked. The Shadowhawk took a severe beating initially, but the Terrha'kaevr and the Ghoyiph soon appeared and took on the other ships while we targeted the remaining damaged warbird, which had set itself on a collision course for us. The Ghoyiph was lost when it was caught in the explosion of one of the enemy heavy cruisers, and the Shadowhawk almost suffered the same fate in its engagement with the warbird. We stood our ground firmly as it closed in on us. Finally delivering the fatal blow, we pulled out just in time, but not without receiving serious damage. Warp engines are now offline, and so is main power.

The away team has managed to escape from the outpost using the station's shuttles. Unfortunately, the outpost itself is in auto-destruct mode. The Shadowhawk is attempting to get as much distance between itself and the outpost as it can, though without warp engines we won't be able to fully escape the station's destruction. I only hope the ship survives without too much additional damage.

Our mission has been a success in one way. We drove the ra'faicol from the outpost. The outpost, though, is lost, and I'm not sure how that will affect things in the long run. It will take time to either construct a new station or to move existing stations so that the gap in the supply line is shortened.

Acting Leih, Ih'Hwi'saehne Amarik I'Dartha recording.

On information received we investigated the sudden silence of Outpost 12. Upon arrival it was discovered that it had been attacked by the ra’faicol. I was ordered to lead the Ahyanir onto the Outpost to discover the whereabouts of the only two lifesign’s registered. Splitting into two teams, I led the first to the Hifvai’rhe where we found a severely injured Arrain, who died of his wounds. Erein Taris led the second team to the cargo deck where the only other lifesign was detected, this turned out to be a female Operations Officer by the name of Arrain Nai.

We discovered that the ra’faicol had killed everyone aboard the Outpost, then had beamed in again after our arrival, looking for Arrain Nai. The Shadowhawk, in the meantime had come under attack by several ra’faicol vessels, though outnumbered and outgunned the erie’Riov put up a good fight to try to reach us.

During this conflict one of my team, erie’Uhlan Tafv. Was captured by the enemy and used as a hostage for the return of Arrain Nai, he was subsequently executed when their plan failed. Curious as to why the ra’faicol Commander was so insistant to have this women, I ordered Erein Taris to find out why.

We finally managed to reach the Outpost’s Hwaveyiir and regrouped. The ra’faicol launched an attack and erie’Erein Galan, a paectum from the Shadowhawk sacrificed his life for others by leaping onto a grenade. I recommend he receive a posthumous Imperial Medal of Valor for his bravery and self-sacrifice.

It was then we discovered that Arrain Nai was in fact, a Tal’Shiar operative and had important information regarding the Ra’faicol forces. This was the reason the enemy were so desperate to get hold of her – alive or dead. The enemy then set off the Outpost’s self-destruct sequence and we were lucky to escape on two shuttles. Apart, that is, for Erein Taris who became separated and captured by the ra’faicol who beamed him to their ship, the DRW Glory.

With the arrival of our reinforcements the Shadowhawk won the battle with the ra’faicol, but at a cost. The Ghoyiph was destroyed and the battle cruiser so badly damaged that it was caught in the Outpost’s shockwave when she exploded. It was during this last act that our Leih, erie’Riov V’Tana suffered severe injuries. She is currently being tended to in our Hifvai’rhe.

To be suddenly thrust into the acting position of Leih has been a shock to me, but as Ih’hwi’saehne, it is my duty to get the Shadowhawk and crew away from danger. I just hope that the erie’Riov pulls through, only time will tell. She has a bond with the crew, and having a new Leih will maybe undo all the work she has done.

For now we are currently on course for Ch’Rihan and Hdrael 1 to drop our ‘guest’ Arrain Nai off to the relevant people. Thank the Elements that we have the Terrha'kaevr as escort, I think the Shadowhawk could not take much more damage. I fear that she will be in dock for some time from the punishment she has taken.

Saeihr-Hveith 20902.18

Whilst our stay at Hdrael 41 was brief, there was an incident involving our newly appointed Hru'vriafwen, Erein R'Mor. He had been attacked whilst in the company of a certain female shop worker named, Felaen Sathe. Her record indicates that she has been involved in minor criminal activities. It has aroused my suspicion that there is possibly more to this incident. Arrain S'Ten had also expressed concerns about this, plus the fact he felt as if he were being watched whilst aboard the Hdrael.

The Leih has suggested that perhaps the two of us were being paranoid. But I have asked the Hdraelir Arifv Dheno to keep an eye on this woman and to inform me if anything untoward should happen. Also, our new Amnhhei'saehne S'Tokkr was approached by a Ferengi who tried to sell him some sort of creature. This too has piqued my curiosity and I have asked them to check on him as well.

At this moment the Shadowhawk has been assigned to head for Outpost 12 which has been attacked by ra'faicolir. Our orders are to defend or retake the facility, I have great confidence in our Dheno forces aboard the Shadowhawk and, although we may well suffer major casualties if we have to assault the Outpost. I know our troops will do their duty and more for the glory of the Shiar.

The ships reorganization is continuing with the help of S'Ten. Although it involves a mass of paperwork it all seems to be going well. I believe that once in place it may well make the job of running this hiyll a little easier.

I still feel a little shocked but very proud that the Leih has promoted me to Arrain and to the positions of Ih'hwi'saehne and Hru'ithiolha'edh. I will endeavour to prove that her trust in me was the right choice.

Saeihr-Hveith 20906.08

Our last mission regarding Outpost 12 was I feel, a minimal success. In that, we denied the ra'faicol a staging post. But, also denied ourselves the base seeing as the ra'faicol destroyed it using the self-destruct system.

It was a trap in my estimate. Central Command sending us there with no support was, to my mind, a failure on their part. Perhaps, it was designed to give them an excuse to relieve V'Tana of her command. If that was the case, then, they have succeeded in part, as she is in a bad way at this time. Leaving me in command of a severely damaged battle cruiser.

For the Away Teams part, they all excelled in their fields. Unfortunately, we suffered some losses, erie'Uhlan Tafv was murdered by the ra'faicol and erie'Uhlan Rihaul has lost an arm. I hope they can do something for him, as we will be losing a valuable member of the crew.

The main loss though, is Erein Taris. Who was captured somehow by the ra'faicol, I dread to think how they are treating him. I can only hope that he escapes somehow, that is for the Elements to decide.

For now, the Shadowhawk faces a long period of repairs and crew replacements. I also feel that we may be receiving another Leih, I have a gut feeling that V'Tana may not survive her surgery, or, be unable to command for some time.

If there is a new Leih, then I hope the crew take to them as they did to V'Tana. Who knows what is in store for us when we reach ch'Rihan and Hdrael 1.

Our Shore leave on Hdrael 41 was cut short and we now find ourselves en route to Outpost 12 at maximum warp. The outpost has been attacked by rebels. Communication with the outpost has been lost, so our orders are either to help defend it or retake it. I’ve been told by the Leih to expect heavy casualties.

I’d rather be fighting the Lloann'mhrahel than our own people, but I have no sympathy for them. They are traitors and should die as such. I have no doubt that this so called rebellion will be crushed just as we will crush the Lloann'mhrahel. We have already conquered the Acamarian system and word has arrived that we have taken one of their strategic space stations, Sierra 18. I hope we can end this threat to the outpost quickly so we can get back to the war.

This fleet reorganization continues to be an administrative nightmare but I am working through it. Although I can’t say that it is all bad. The Shadowhawk has been transferred to the Fourth Division under Enriov Kaenmie and it did come with a promotion to Arrain and I find myself the third ranking officer on the ship. That is a lot of responsibility and to be honest, I’m a bit scared. Scared of making the wrong choice or decision, I suppose it’s also a fear I’ve always had as a maenek. It’s hard to accept that even if you do make all the right decisions and do all the right things, it is sometimes not enough to save lives.

I’ve still not been in contact with ri'nanov. Her aide told me that she was away on business and would contact me when she returned. She hasn’t. And her last communication to me was cryptic. She wanted me to be careful and be on guard. I didn’t understand it then, but back on Hdrael 41, I did get the feeling that I was being watched and followed. I wish I could get in touch with her and find out what is going on. But I can’t worry about that at the moment. In five hours I’ll probably have a Hifvai'rhe full of wounded and dying.

Sahhae ohrain.

Saeihr-Hveith 20906.07

Our mission to Outpost 12 is over. Was it a success? I guess it all depends on how you view success. The rebels do not have control of the outpost, then again neither do we. It’s been destroyed. The Shadowhawk is severely damaged and we sustained casualties on both the ship and the Away Team.

erei'Riov V'Tana has been severely injured, her back is broken at her sixth vertebrae, and there's spinal damage. She is now being prepped for surgery and I personally will be operating on her.

We are fortunate even to have survived since we walked into a trap. Command in its infinitive wisdom sent the Shadowhawk ahead of our support ships. We found that the outpost had been attacked and only a few life signs were detected. I was part of the Away Team that was sent to investigate what had happened and assist any injured.

Soon, several rebel ships appeared and we found ourselves out numbered. In addition to battling the Shadowhawk, several rebel teams boarded the station and we were in a fight for our lives. They were looking for some girl. When they didn’t get her before our reinforcements finally showed up they decided to set the self-destruct on the station. We were fortunate enough to escape using the outpost’s shuttles before the self-destruction detonated.

So, the rebels were denied, but at what cost. Over a hundred dead, countless injured, the near destruction of the Shadowhawk and the Leih faces surgery.

All for the glory of the Empire.

Arrain R'Mor

Saeihr-Hveith 20902.18

Let it be my public opinion that ch'Rihan ale is one of the most vile substances in the galaxy, even worse than Horta excrement. No wonder the Lloann'mhrahel have outlawed its consumption. It quickly affects the brain. In my case, not even one glass was required to put me in an intoxicated state. There was only one benefit from that glass: I dropped my shell long enough to talk with a beautiful woman on Hdrael 41.

It also got me mugged. This Felaen Sathe smoothly talked me into visiting the hdrael's Observation Lounge. I'm sure the view would have been breathtaking, but someone else stole my breath first. I woke up in the hdrael's medical facilities while the recall was made. Arrain Taris wanted to know my story and is working with the station's dheno to get to the bottom of this.

My day wasn't all that disastrous. Despite my incident, my superiors deemed worthy of a promotion. I am now a full Erein. The Shiar has made a few changes to its command structure. The medical and sciences division have been merged into one. With the loss of S'Van, Arrain S'Ten has become my new boss. Though similar, our two departments are vastly different. S'Ten has named me his Assistant Hru'vriafwen to make the transition easier.

I must admit I was skeptical of the appointment at first. Even while in academy, the S'Tei were always positioning me for the best areas. I was always a shining trophy for their cause and to be placed in just the right spot to shine the brightest. Naturally, they made sure I received transfer orders for the Shadowhawk. I look forward to the day when I no longer have to obey their every command.

[Computer, strike the last sentence from the recording.]

When S'Ten asked me to be his assistant, I naturally assumed the S'Tei were behind his decision. I looked for the shadow that controlled the maenek's actions. I quickly realized I was being foolish and accepted the position. This is the first advancement I have made in the Shiar without their involvement. Perhaps fate can be changed.

I hope that's true. My family has suffered enough. My work is for them. Each day I serve loyally is a day they are protected from "concerned" government employees who raid the farm at night.

Speaking of duty, the Shadowhawk is heading for Outpost 12. It was attacked not too long ago by the ra'faicolir. We are to make sure the outpost stays under Galae control at all costs. I do not know what my kind are expected to do in this mission. We are thinkers, not fighters. We know how to use a disruptor. We also know how the disruptors function. What we do not know is how to kill without thought to judge our actions. Perhaps we think too much. Or not enough.

I pity these ra'faicolir. I understand why they left the Galae. They were tired of the government controlling their families, sending their kin to their deaths in the Reman mines or the police to tear apart their homes. I wonder if perhaps they're not ra'faicolir at all, but that I am. They had the courage to leave and start their lives over. I made deals with demons and pretended to be like those demons. Maybe I can find one these vang'radamsu* and arrange for at least Havraha to be smuggled away.

[Computer, delete the last paragraph from the recording.]

I pity those who we are about to meet in battle. They are still our brothers, even if they turned from the Galae.

Rhae Ohrain:

I believe I have become the resident hacker on the Shadowhawk. Perhaps I should have taken computer programming as a minor instead of Cloaking Mechanics. I find myself bypassing more encryption codes than continuing my research.

Any rate, the Shadowhawk was called to investigate the fate of an Imperial outpost between Rihannsu and "ra'faicol" space. I thought I'd though I finally had a mission that didn't revolve around the S'Tei or the Tal'Shiar. I was only half correct. Again, I digress from my report.

When we arrived at the outpost, it was clear our brethren enemies had attacked it. The structure was severely damaged. I believe only half of it was operational at the time, and that half was running on secondary systems.

I was assigned to one of the Away Teams. If anyone could bring the sensor arrays back online, it would have been me. Unfortunately, our brethren I do not know if they are truly ra'faicol or not had locked out the computer systems.

I was able to gain access to secondary systems, including emergency forcefields and transporters. I attempted to bottleneck our opponents, but they broke through extremely quickly. Our last resort was transport the Away Teams onto the Hwaveyiir. This reminds me. I left two enemy soldiers in the pattern buffer.

Someone kept calling for the return of a female. There was only one survivor, a female, that we had recovered. Refusing to give her up but unable to beam back to the Shadowhawk, we had to make our escape by beaming onto shuttles in the Khaelfa and shut down the shields. The self destruct went off moments later. Several of our soldiers died, but Erein Taris was not transported with us to the shuttles.

It can only be assumed Taris was taken prisoner by our brethren. His, and their, biosignatures disappeared from the outpost before its destruction. At least we saved the girl. Here is where I was wrong. She was Tal'Shiar.

The spy we rescued had gathered intelligence to penetrate the defense systems on Ecurai. Rescuing her was why we lost Taris. Of course, the Tal'Shiar will label it as an act of duty or some such nonsense.

We're back in orbit above ch'Rihan. Hopefully I do not get mugged on my shoreleave like last. I'm on my way to visit my family. I haven't seen them since I was deployed. It will be good to see them again.

Rhae Ohrain:

I now sit on the shuttle Dhael, waiting for Outpost 12 to die. Our mission to retake the Outpost from the ra'faicol has failed. True, we were able to defeat them on the Outpost, and it appears the Shadowhawk and our reinforcements have destroyed most of the ra'faicol ships, but they were able to activate the Outpost's auto-destruct sequence. And the escaping ra'faicol have captured Erein Taris.

I will now play Erein Taris' last log recording. It was began as we waited in the Hteij'rhe, and it is incomplete:

The voice of R'Kal Taris begins speaking, clearly being played back from another recording device.

[We have been ordered to bring Outpost 12 back online. It appears that most of the crew has been killed, though we are detecting two survivors. Arrain I'Dartha and I will lad two teams over to the Outpost, to rescue the survivors and begin repairs. The ra'faicolsu may still be in the area, so we are proceeding with caution. And heavily armed. Both of the ship's senior officers are coming along, leaving only the leih aboard the ship. If this is a trap, then the ra'faicol may very well deal a crippling blow to the Shadowhawk's command staff. I do not think erei'Riov V'Tana will be able to withstand the repercussions of losing a third ih'hwi'saehne in as many missions. It would almost certainly halt her advancement, and could well cost her her command, though I think that possibility is unlikely, as the Galae cannot afford to lose a quality leih to such political maneuvering. We've lost too many to the war, and to the ra'faicol. Curse the traitors!]

The recording paused for a moment:

[We have beamed aboard the Outpost, and are moving to the location of the survivors. Arrain I'Dartha and Assault Team Three, along with Arrain S'Ten and the etrehafwe'saehne, have gone to Deck 2. I am leading Assault Team One here on Deck 5.]

The recording ends.

The survivor that that Arrain I'Dartha and his team found died of his wounds. The survivor that we found turned out to be someone unexpected.

Her name, if it is her real name, is Arrain S'anra Nai, of the Tal'Shiar. She is the reason the ra'faicol attacked Outpost 12 in the first place. She stole defense schematics of several key ra'faicol construction yards and military strong points. The ra'faicol were trying to get those plans back.

They failed to do so, though not without cost to our teams. Lihran lost Tafv, and will lose Rihaul. He lost his arm, and it will be some time before his able to fight again, if the Galae does not retire him. We lost Giellan and T'Sail. erei'Erein Galan was also killed. And Erein Taris was captured. I do not what happened, but he failed to be transported to the shuttles.

The worst part of all of this is that we had defeated most of the ra'faicol on the Outpost. But they engaged the auto-destruct from Etreh'rhe, and we did not able to override it.

So now we wait for the Outpost to die. We have taken the shuttles out beyond the blast radius. I can see that the Shadowhawk is damaged, and the she cannot jump to warp. She is fleeing the area at impulse, but I do not think she will get clear.

The countdown is nearly complete. Only a few more seconds...

Ohrain ends.

Rhae Ohrain:

My first time out on a starship has been very eventful. The ship was sent to investigate a recently attack outpost, which turned out to be trap as the ra'faicol had either returned, or were already there waiting. Either way, we were attacked and the ship suffered considerable damage. The ra'faicol managed to penetrate nearly halfway through the upper midsection. I spent much of my time in Environmental Control, rerouting power to Life Support and the air scrubbers. Then I was assigned to one of the Emergency Repair teams working in the damaged midsection. Three of the team members, including Erein Tael'elh, were killed by an overloaded power coupling. khre'Uhlan Essri was injured as well, but the current report from Hifvai'rhe says she will be back to duty by the time we reach Hdrael 1.

I was in Hifvai'rhe when the outpost was destroyed, apparently by the ra'faicol, and the Shadowhawk caught in the shock wave. All things considered, we were lucky. The ship survived, and though it was damaged, we were able to repair enough that we are now traveling at Warp to Hdrael 1.

The worst of the damage was the Leih. She was severely injured, and it is very doubtful that she will be returning to command of anything any time soon. Arrain I'Dartha is now in command, until Central Command assigns erei'Riov V'Tana's replacement.

On a brighter side, I met one of my distant cousins, Areinnye s'Jeiai, one of the ship's maenekir. Her father is the governor of Fviurr Province on ch'Rihan. I had known that the son of Taleria's husband was serving on the Shadowhawk, but I had no idea that someone of my own Hfihmn was serving aboard the ship as well. It was a pleasant surprise.

Well, I had best get back to work. Arrain I'Dartha has assigned me to the Ithiolha'edh station, and there is much yet to do to get the ship as functional as possible.
