As per our old mission there had been some break out in sickbay which has meant that it has been locked down and the only way in is in hazmat suits, so I'm hoping that with Commander Brooks's help that all our wonderful medical teams can come up with a cure before we have to dock with Pioneer and turn everything over to them.  As for other things that have happened there was an issue in engineering with what might be a saboteur onboard and I'm hoping that we manage to find out exactly what was happening again before we dock.

Having proven myself on the last mission. Star Fleet Command has given me a promotion to Commander and First Officer of the Sheridan. It is with great privilege that I hold the position and that they saw I was capable to do such a role.

Moving away from Medical will take a little while I suspect but even so I am looking towards the new challenges the role I have been given will take me. I have been able to give Lieutenant Hurst Acting CMO status which will help with my work load.

Taking over the First Officer role from the now newly Promoted Captain Boislevesque has made it a tough act to follow as he made it seem fairly easy. I am however, still trying to work out our working relationship in this new role and how I will put my mark on it.
 +

 +
I was going to send a communication home to let them know the news but then I am hoping at the next shore leave to be able to go home and see them face to face as a lot has gone on that just a letter or message won’t do.  It hasn’t been long since the third solid gold pip has been on my collar before the Captain recalled us to head out on our next mission.
 +

 +
We had our first senior officers meeting in the Conference Room, even through the Captain did say any future ones would be in the Observation Lounge. There are a couple of new additions to the crew in regards to the Department Heads, two from the USS Ozaki. One is our new Chief Engineer M’Rour the other is a rather attractive blond who is just been promoted to Lieutenant Commander called Pond who I met once before on shore leave. She is our new Chief of Security but been in the same role on the Ozaki as the same with M’Rour.
 +

 +
Captain Boislevesque then came to the meeting and explained the mission. The mission is nothing that overall exciting but a necessary for us to preform is some battle drills against the USS Ozaki. I have also tasked Acting Chief Medical Officer Hurst with drilling the new medics aboard while we simulate damage, they can also do the same with the injuries.
 +

 +
The area is apparently clear of any space traffic but the area itself isn’t known to us or our charts that well. So, we will have to rely on our sensor information when we arrive.
 +

 +
The officers all seem to come up with good ideas on how to catch the small and very manoeuvrable Ozaki out. M’Rour and Pond however, did seem to reserve judgement on how they were going to tackle it. I did wonder if their ex-colleagues on the Ozaki would be so obliging. Meanwhile, we have the case of Sothrick being the First Officer on that ship. That does make life harder as he would know how this ship works. I’m hoping through he might not be able to second guess mine and the Captain’s ideas on how to tackle them.
 +

 +
Upon leaving the meeting I returned to the Bridge as I know I can leave Sickbay in Doctor Hurst’s safe hands. I found myself pacing the Bridge while we were on way to the coordinates given by Command.
 +

 +
It wasn’t until we finally got some senor readings did it feel we could formulate something. While this information was coming in a new Midshipman reported in, I decided that a baptism of fire would be just right and selected her for the helm while our Acting Chief Tactical Officer took the Tactical Station. The information from the area on sensors was pretty revealing with eight planetoids, a small nebula and a storm going through the area.
 +

 +
As we geared up for our drills against the Ozaki. We were very suddenly recalled back to Pioneer for a meeting. It turned out this was no ordinary meeting. This included a full recall with us being also joined by the Enterprise. Because of the time scale it was difficult for us to make the meeting in time so both myself and Captain Boislevesque ended up joining the meeting through the hologram.
 +

 +
It was great to see some old faces around the table, the likes of Captain Fields and even a little bit of shock to see Commander Hawk was there. The rumours I had heard that he had come back were true. Vice Admiral Thrawn was also present which told us that the Enterprise had already arrived. It could only mean something big was about to happen.

Today was my first day aboard a starship. The USS Sheridan. It was breathtaking at first, but my first assignment on duty caught me by surprise.
 +

 +
For all the interests I had in Tactical, being assigned to the helm was the last thing I had expected. Then again, early days at best, but I don’t see myself as an ace pilot. Oh, piloting a shuttle can be done by anybody; it’s no different from the common 20th-21st Century human with cars. However, in this case, an ace pilot is expected to have been pulled off in these training maneuvers with the Sheridan and another starship, the Ozaki.
 +

 +
In my regards as a helmsman, I must say, my piloting skills are basic. Emphasis on the word “Basic.” I wasn’t expecting to fly at all, let alone having to pull of such fancy flying. Of course, fancy flying is to be expected with an ion storm, even with all the technological advances to protect the ship from the effects of the storm.
 +

 +
For a first day on the job, it was, as they say on Earth, a doozy. It was particularly scary. I was sweating as much as having to traverse a jungle at Risa’s equator. Let’s just say I’m feeling as much comfort at the helm of a ship as a human is comfortable driving a car in Tornado Alley in good weather. That is to say, driving in a straight line without having to risk hitting something off the road reassures me the most.
 +

 +
Of course, this was the first day of duty as a Tactical officer. I hope I won’t have to be at the helm every day. At least I hope there will be something in Tactical besides the helm for me to do. Oh, I don’t mind the helm, but hopefully I won’t have to do any fancy flying.
 +

 +
Aside from that, I like the ship. The Sheridan’s cool for a little ship. It’s a great place for me to start at. As for the crew, first day yet. The people that stand out to me are Commander Brooks and Lieutenant ZenZin. Brooks is nice, even a little handsome. ZenZin…I always crack a smile when I hear that. ZenZin’s a whacky name. It’s like naming a child ZigZag. I like them. However, it’ll be a while before I get to know them, as with my departmental head, Konstantin, and Captain Boislevesque. Talk about names that roll off the tongue. Still, at least I’ve not heard on joke about my name yet. No “Said What?” or “Said says” jokes. In any case, we’ll see what comes up after this training mission and see what the boundaries and mysteries of space have in store.

It is on request of the First officer, and a valuable piece of advice to make friends. So I started a theoretical flow chart on a white board. Get to know interests of people around me, what they like, what they do. I used a blueberry scented marker, I like the scent of blueberries. I also ran out of ideas and walked away, get my mind off of things and gain a fresh perspective. Upon returning in my raspberry scented marker, someone wrote learn names. I also made a five hundred quiz, but Thelma wouldn’t let me give it to anyone. I have also consulted the holo deck and it came up with this strange program in a Forrest. It’s a children’s story book, and it’s a very good one at that.
 +

 +
The Theoretical flow chart needs work still, and I know I will make mistakes along the way. I don’t understand why this is so hard. It’s almost as mysterious as those little bowls of Jello, they were two ounces each and I don’t remember much about what happened after seven. More research is required, and I have a good study partner. Social protocol is a very complicated thing, and now I am caught up in learning this. I am even giving my chief medical officer Hurst a wide birth. Poor woman probably hates me about now, and I gave her every reason to do so. There is only one thing in my existence I am not sure of, and this is the only thing. The people equation, I have to figure this out.

Captain's Logs

Captain Harrison Boislevesque

Stardate 21909.03

Captain's Log. Stardate: 21909.03 Commander Harrison Boislevesque recording:

We docked safely at Pioneer Station and we knew that we had managed to survive the mission as there were times I thought that we would end up having to call in extra help just so we could survive.

I decided to continue the tradition of having a post mission party, which would be house in out Ten Forwards lounge as it is the biggest open space on this ship that has a bar and food replicator facilities and to my great surprise it was a success and we were joined not only by the existing crew but we had our transfer’s and new recruits join in as they were read at the air lock when we docked.

The Sheridan had been given a new Chief Engineer called Lieutenant Commander Shi-mi M'Rour a Caitain species and if she is as good as the other Caitain officer’s that I have served with over time then I know my engineering department is in safe hands. We are also being joined by Lieutenant Luna Pond to run our Security department and as she is just swapping ships and not positions then I’m confidant that she is good and will fit in extremely well.

As for promotions there were loads to give out as there was some good work done during the mission, so Sapphire ZenZin, Ch’Kyval, Marg and Pond all were promoted to the rank of Ensign and Raven Hurst was promoted to the full rank of Lieutenant.

Previously stated we had been joined but new members to our family and we have been joined by Midshipman Yuraga Saipara to our Security Department and our medical team have been joined by two new officers called Mid Arwen Than and Shene McGill.

I am hoping that our next mission isn’t that far away from being assigned as it would be nice to get back out there among the stars and planets to explore this region and if possible make some kind of first contact with some indigenous population.

Captain's Log. Stardate: 21909.15 Captain Harrison Boislevesque recording:

I've just come from a meeting with Admiral Jal which included Captain Simmons from the USS Ozaki and was informed of our next mission and that was a simulated combat against the Ozaki in an out of the way system, so that we aren't disturbed, we have also been reassigned some new officers to replace our Acting Chief Engineer and Acting Security Chief and they have come from the USS Ozaki, so I expect that what I discuss the mission with the Senior Command team that they won't like it being that was there last home and the crew are close friends of their's, but I know that they are highly trained officers and will fulfill their responcibilites to help the Sheridan to be successful.

Oh and I better meantion that Star Fleet Command felt that I must of done a great job in commanding the Sheridan as her that they have promoted me to Captain.

Captains Log. Stardate: 22001.03 Captain Harrison Boislevesque reporting.

Well the mission to have a simulated combat scenario wne tbust as we were about 5 hours out from the system and working on a way to sneak into the area using a storm that was travelling thought the system when we had a recall noticed sent into us from Admiral Thrawn and that we needed to return to Pioneer Outpost. The thing is that if Admiral Thrawn is here then so is the most legendary starship in the whole of Star Fleet and the Federation is also here.....The Enterprise CV-07. We're not sure exactly why the Admiral is here but whatever it is it must be massive.

There is a meeting being held in the Strategic Operations Centre at Pioneer to discuss what is going on and what the recall is about, but we won't be able to physically able to be there as we will still onroute back so what myself and Cdr Brooks will need use the holographic communication system which will be a first for me as normally don't nee to use it, I'm feeling slightly apprehensive about the whole thing.

As per our old mission there had been some break out in sickbay which has meant that it has been locked down and the only way in is in hazmat suits, so I'm hoping that with Commander Brooks's help that all our wonderful medical teams can come up with a cure before we have to dock with Pioneer and turn everything over to them.
