Personal History

Patrick was born in Dublin. His father was never around as he (his father) was in the Federation Marines. Patrick grew up, helping with whatever was needed. He was raised as a Christian and carries a bible with him wherever he goes. As a youth, he always had a fascination with hunting, learning stealth as well as marksmanship skills through trial and error. At the age of 16, Patrick joined up with the Irish National Police, the Garda, by lying about his age, wanting to gain as much experience as possible in order to follow in his fathers footsteps. He performed basic patrol duties for 3 years before he decided he wanted to see more of the universe

At the age of 19, he left for boot camp to follow in the steps of his father and become a marine as well. In boot camp, he excelled in shooting and field exercises. Upon graduation, he was given security postings at several facilities but never saw action beyond breaking up fights. After a few years, he decided that his only chance of seeing action would be to become an officer, prompting him to go to the academy. His family lineage has always been military based, his father, his grand father and so on, serving in the the marines. He has even traced his lineage back to relatives serving in the Fianoglach, the 20th century Irish Army Ranger Wing.

Personality Profile

Academy Major(s): Security, with emphasis on combat roles
Academy Minor(s): Infantry tactics and Combat Medicine/Lifesaver
Hobbies and Pastimes: Patrick enjoys playing the bag pipe in his free time, as well as praying. He constantly practices in close quarters hand to hand combat with his combat knife he crafted himself. Patrick also enjoys improving his marksmanship skills under a variety of situations such as zero gravity or from different shooting positions such as one handed, right handed, or left handed.
Short-Term Goals: He would like get a posting with his childhood friend Thomas as well as learn the fate of his father, as he was never told how he died, simply that he was killed in combat.
Long-Term Goals: Patrick would like to stay in a role where he can still experience combat. He never wants to be stuck at a desk job. He also feels the need to protect Thomas, thinking it is his responsibility.
Personality: He is initially reserved, cold and calculating, suspicious of many people. Upon gaining his trust, he is a very modest and trustworthy individual. He hates lying, unless there is a good reason for it. He is steadfast and loyal, willing to lay down his life for any crew member if asked. When on the offensive, he is unrelenting, always pressing the attack, never stopping.
Sense of Humor: Being an Irishman, he has a very dirty sense of humor, not caring if jokes make people uncomfortable.
Phobias: He isn’t necessarily terrified of anything, but is afraid of letting down the crew when they may need him most.
Likes: Patrick likes weapons of all kinds, and loves learning about alien weapons as well as collecting ancient human weapons. He will go out of his way to acquire interesting weapons. He likes alcohol, in all of it’s aspects, and as a youth, learned to brew himself.
Dislikes: He hates, HATES, dirty weapons, to the point where he is almost OCD about a weapons functionality. He dislikes it when people can’t hold their liquor as well, or when people dislike his music, however loud it may be.
Pet Peeves or Gripes: Patrick absolutely despises when commanders don’t treat subordinates with respect, but also when a subordinate does not show the commander respect. He also, as stated previously, hates it when a weapon is not in perfect functioning condition.
Bad Habits or Vices: Patrick is a known drinker, a habit picked up from the stereotypical Irish culture. He also has a bad tendency for swearing, another habit picked up from the culture he was raised in. Patrick has a tendency for carrying a weapon on him at all times, usually his combat knife he crafted himself. Patrick also goes out of his way to acquire or at least see exotic weaponry.
Achievements: Patrick’s greatest achievement, to him at least, was his graduation from boot camp at such a young age.
Disappointments: Patrick has been disappointed by his lack of real combat experience, as that was one of the main reasons he signed up to begin with.
Illnesses: N/A
Strengths: He is an excellent fighter, competent with all forms of personal weaponry, from rifles, to knives, and everything in between.
Weaknesses: He is not a very good politician or diplomat. He prefers a direct approach, and is not above using force to achieve his goals. Thomas, his best friend also has a lot of influence with him.
Fears: He is always afraid of letting down the crew at a crucial moment, this being a common nightmare of his.
Prejudices: He is not particularly fond of pacifists, or anyone who does not respect the Federation Marines.
Off Duty Clothing Tastes: Jeans and a black jacket with a black undershirt.
Distinguishing Features: Tattoos: Barcode with trooper designation on neck, Cross running entire length of back, with the arms(?) of the cross running down his arms, ending with tattoos of nails on his hands.
Pets: None
Friends: Patrick’s best friend was Thomas Moran. They grew up together, hunting and getting into trouble. Thomas and Patrick went to the academy together and have remained best friends, and close comrades. Thomas is a very large influence in his life, able to influence his decisions significantly.

Personal Paradigm Shifts

Most Painful Experience: His most painful experience was not growing up with his father. This however made him stronger and more independent, as well as led to him joining the marines and Starfleet.
Best Time: His Best time was boot camp. He went there to follow in his father’s footsteps and fulfill his dream of becoming a federation marine, which he did become.
Most Crucial Experience: His crucial moment was when he finally shipped off and left his old life for a new one of service, dutifully protecting people he didn’t know and probably never would. He did so knowing he would not receive any recognition, and that he was serving a cause greater than himself.
Role Model: Patrick most aspires to be like his father, dutifully serving the Federation and his comrades until the very end, the epitome of loyalty and service.
