Personal History

Being half Vulcan/Klingon is rare among mixed heritage of species. This caused unforeseen complications when his mother gave birth. The doctors did everything they could to save Marg's mother, but because Vulcan/Klingon offspring is so uncommon, they did not have the proper research or techniques to save her life. His father raised him to accept both Klingon and Vulcan culture and virtues.

As a young child, Marg was known for emotional outbursts. His father helped him learn to control his emotions, but Marg still had difficulty, leading to fights with other children to prove himself to his best friend, Roragh. He was educated on many diverse cultures of different alien species, along side their languages and history. To keep his strong Klingon emotional outbursts at bay, he was taught to occupy his mind with educational studies and meditation. During severe flare-ups, his father played him classical music, from Beethoven, a German composer and pianist, from Earths 18th century, which in most cases, calmed Marg's mind. His father found this out one day when he and Marg were attending a street festival. A group of Klingon children were playing in the streets. Marg ran to them, the first time seeing children of Klingon descent. The children began to make fun of Margs ears, which were pointed. Marg consumed by anger, balled his fist, as his eyes began to water. He gritted his teeth and was about to swing on the first child near him. But just before, a street performer at the festival began to play a rendition of "Fur Elise". The children's laughter was soon drowned out, as the song went on. A quiet serenity fell over Marg, as his fist slowly released the tension he had held in it. The music some how jump started Marg's brain function, and if analyzed, mirrored that of a Vulcan who had been meditating. His father, from a distance, watched on, intrigued by this discovery.

Marg began a rebellious phase against all things Vulcan in his teenage years. He sometimes acted illogical in many situations to spite his father. Marg and Roragh would seek out "Honor Battles" where they would challenge one another to fight (Non-Lethal) a bigger, stronger, smarter opponent from whoever had fought last. Marg picked a fight with a strong Klingon Warrior, outside a local bar, who he had challenged to a bout of hand to hand combat. His arrogance carried its weight at first, surprising the experience warrior. However, once the Klingon had enough, he brutally and viciously proved a point. Marg was beaten severally, almost to death. As he recovered, he isolated himself for months, choosing to learn from his mistakes and why he had failed.

Margs father, instead of trying to suppress his son's feelings, encouraged him to join Star Fleet, as he had done, and was unconventional in his ways to help Marg accept himself as half Klingon, half Vulcan.

He was sent to stay with Roragh's family during one summer, to learn the Klingon way first hand. At first, the Klingons were distance but grew to respect Marg as he proved himself. This was due to a hunt he was on, which left him the record holder of the largest targ killed with bare hands. The year after that, Marg went to stay with his fathers family, on Vulcan, to once for all to suppress certain emotions. This was harder for Marg, as the Vulcans thought this time to be wasted and illogical. This, in turn, made Marg extremely driven. To prove all those who doubted him wrong. His obsession to prove those wrong, who doubt him, is a double edge sword. Sometimes it goes in his favor and sometimes not.

Margs time at the Academy was valuable, but a tiresome experience. He excelled in his studies, especially war culture/strategy of major alien races. He was especially intrigued by an ancient piece of human literature, called "The Art of War". He memorized the book, front to back, and held many of the beliefs close to himself. He was picky with whom he socialized with. Cadets who were lazy and had no drive to improve themselves made Marg irritated. Those who were weak by choice, meaning those who did not try to be stronger, or who were not bounded by something out of their control, were another group that Marg despised. Marg felt a need to protect individuals who were weak due to circumstances out of their control. These were the people at the Academy that he became close with, a misfits group of sorts. Marg would stand up for these individuals, no matter the case. He would also help them to improve themselves, be it physical prowess or tutoring them in specific classes. Loyalty was of most importance to Marg, a feeling that Marg never could suppress.

However, here and there, he was reprimanded for outbursts of anger and for fighting. Usually sparked when an inner turmoil of "honor" vs logic, Marg will become overwhelmed, irrational, and emotional, causing him to lash out. A specific time was when a fellow cadet, that was a part of his misfit group, had been bullied by an older cadet. Marg did not take this kindly, almost causing a riot on the campus, when he attacked the "leader" of these older cadets. Towards the end of schooling, his infractions were less frequent as he suppressed these feelings. His father, a Vulcan Admiral, caused a bias towards Marg, who if any other Cadet, would have been expelled. His father protested several times, for his son to be held accountable, but the Academy still went easy on Marg.

Before entering the final part of his journey through Star Fleet, Margs father began to watch his son closely, seeing if he would show any signs of the Pon Farr, a Vulcan time of mating. Due to only being half Vulcan, there is a shroud of mystery if it would even take place. If it did, as notated on Margs file, he was to be examined and studied.

Marg was ready to explore a new frontier he had always dreamed of, since he was a child. Even though he did not show it, he was excited to start this new chapter of his life. He wanted to make his father proud. He wanted his mother to be proud of him, wherever she was. He kept this deep inside his mind, protected by the techniques he had learned from his father, but it was still there.
