Personal History
Early Years
Sileen Elizabeth Ley (Sil to her friends) was born on Earth, the love child of a horticulture student and a freighter pilot. Her mother was attending college in Miami, Florida and went with a group of girlfriends up the coast to Canaveral Space Port. As Sil was told... “To meet some of those sexy pilots and have a wild weekend.” Nine months later, Sileen E was born to the modest surroundings of a college dormitory room.
As a child, Sil hardly ever saw her father. He took his financial responsibility of raising his child to heart and sent funds so Sil's mom didn't have to quit school, but luxury living was not in the cards for mom nor Sil. The two found themselves moving often to stay ahead of the next rent increase or to try to be near Sil's father, wherever he may land.
Throughout her young life she attended public schools as her mother gained experience in her chosen profession and her father continued to fly whatever he could get his hands on. Then at the age of 13, with the promise of being a real family, Sil's mother and father finally married. He had an opportunity to fly a merchant ship out of Utopia Planitia), giving him an opportunity to return regularly to home port and her mother was able to get a job at the colony farms. So off to Mars they went. Shortly after getting settled into their new home, Sil's mother announced that she was pregnant.
Life wasn't that exciting, though Sil and her new found best friend, Sal, did manage to get into trouble on occasion, sneaking into restricted areas just to see what they could see and giggling at Star Fleet crews, mostly the males, who took leave while their ships were being refitted or repaired.
As the trappings of teenage silliness began to fade and she and Sal began to mature, both desired the adventure and excitement that Star Fleet seemed to offer. Their grades in school were passable and they really wanted to be somewhere else. Both had memories of Earth and both were fed up with living at home under the frowning eyes of their parents. Something had to give.
Starfleet Academy
So at the age of 20, both Sil and Sal announced that they were applying to Star Fleet Academy.
Four exciting, hard won years later, the two girls graduated from the Academy and received their assignments; Sal was to join the Marines at Sierra 18 and Sil was assigned to the Ticonderoga.
Ticonderoga: Bishtar
Having annoyed her Department Head right off the bat, Sil was assigned grunt work while the rest of the Tico crew was on leave. She didn’t mind because it afforded her an opportunity to explore the ship and casually meet her new fellow crewmates. Soon the Ticonderoga was called to assist Bishtar, a xenophobic planet having a degrading star problem.
Sil was called to share a rescue mission with Lt Drell and Mid Sumeru. They saved a Bishtar pilot and Tico pilot, who had critical intel regarding the Bishtar sun's degradation.
Shortly after the rescue teams return, the Ticonderoga was attacked by a rogue Ferengi who had been destroying the Bishtar sun for profit. Sickbay was inundated with wounded.
After the attack ended, a new day in inter-species relations was begun for the Bishtar peoples. With their grateful efforts, the Ticonderoga was repaired and called to Carraya IV for leave, meeting new friends and a little formal business.
Ticonderoga: Carraya IV
On Carraya IV, Sileen met a particularly stunning couple, Science Officer Lt [JG] Yas Boehm (Boehm, Yasmin) and her fiancé, Tactical Officer, Lt Rick Westfield (Westfield, Richard), who invited her to their wedding on Bajor. An invitation she accepted.
Though the wedding was the highlight of her first visit to Bajor , the life changing aspect was meeting Jenson Dulan (Dulan, Jenson), a man for her heart. Though they had very few days together a connection was made and Sileen chose to join the crew of the USS Titan to be with him.
Titan: Inferno
She was able to catch a supply ship and join the USS Titan, CL-2007 on a Breen / Cardassian border patrol mission. Shortly after her arrival, the Titan received a distress call. The mining colony on Inferno had been attacked. Aid was needed by the Ktarian miners. Two shuttle craft were dispatched. Sileen joined the medical team helping to patch the injured and was called to assist in a cave-in rescue.
Titan: Sakura Prime
After returning to the ship for a little R&R, Sileen was called to support an away mission to the Sakura Prime colony which had been infected with an unknown virus. Sileen stayed on board to do research while the away team tried to be of assistance on the surface. It was finally discovered that the virus had come to the colony via an injured pilot.
The virus, labeled TMV, contained DNA similar to that discovered on Tarchannen III, though it had been modified via artificial means. It contained markers suggesting the Shomak Nebula Research Center as its origin. With this information, a vaccine could be synthesized and Sileen was called to the planet to assist in its administration to all the adult population of the colony, as it seemed the children were not affected. The few patients who had already transformed into reptile like creatures could not be redeemed with the vaccine. They were transported to the Shomak Nebula Research facility for possible DNA transformation back to their original species.
After Sakura Prime, Ley was promoted to Lt[JG] and offered Chief Medical Officer, which she accepted. On a personal note, her relationship with Jenson Dulan grew.
Titan: Lyshan IV
The Titan's next mission was to rescue the colonists on Lyshan IV. Ley sent her best Emergency Medical Team to the planet to assist with the evacuation, her head nurse to the Shuttle bay to assist with triage and her med techs to the Ballroom to prepare for the evacuee's arrival.
While dealing with the Lyshan evacuation, the Titan separated and Ley sent some of her staff with the Engineering Section into the Argaya System, where a battle with the Nausicaans ensues.
With the assistance of the USS Franklin, all Lyshan evacuees receive proper care.
Titan: Sierra 18
The Titan was reunited and preceded to Sierra 18 for some much needed relaxation. Dulan, having accepted a promotion to Chief Engineer on another ship, is off and the pair part.
The staff was invited to a birthday party for Dr. Simone, where an altercation between the owner of the establishment and his former wife began with the party goers being locked in the holosuite and threatened with a bomb.
Several officers, including Ley were injured and later repaired at Sierra 18 Sickbay, where Ley met Head Nurse Gibbo, who she spent a lovely afternoon in the Sierra 18 arboretum.
Titan
After returning to the ship, Ley renewed her acquaintance with LCdr Drell and his wife, Tellssa, who is pregnant with their first brood. However, the most interesting part of the upcoming mission occurred in Engineering where the FO & CO exchange persona's. The Titan's new Science officer, Drell, comes up with an idea to use a Vulcan to transfer the personalities back, but none were on board.
Then the word was received that Sierra 18 was under attack. The Titan arrived and was able to pick up several escape pods. Ley and her teams administered to the rescued victims.

Most Crucial Experience: Sil decided to become a doctor when her baby brother was injured when she was supposed to be watching him. She was distracted with her “girl stuff” and lost track of him. She had to act fast to stop the bleeding and felt unequipped to save him. Though she was able to keep him alive and get him to medical care, as she watched the doctors save him, she vowed she would never be caught again without the knowledge needed to save those she loved
