Personal History
Jericho's mother was born and raised on Turkana IV, despite her and her family's desire to leave the planet. Her mother and father were both killed by members of the Turkana IV Alliance when she was 13, and she was forced to survive without the guidance of her parents from then on.
His was unable to escape Turkana IV and eventually her fate caught up with her. She was attacked by one of the infamous rape gangs and left on the street for dead. Somehow, she managed to find her way to a neighbor's house and survived the attack. It was only a couple months later that she discovered life-changing news: she was pregnant.
The news hit her hard, and she had considered abortion, but decided that despite what happened to her, she knew she should not punish an innocent child, so she decided to give the baby up for adoption. Just a few weeks after giving birth to a healthy baby boy, she managed to find an escort off the planet in the form of a Federation ship that had come to survey the planet. She left young Jericho in the care of her neighbor and left the planet, never to be seen again.
The Langston's were able to relocate to Iadara Colony shortly after his mother left, and Jericho grew up knowing only his adoptive parents until he was 10. Like most children his age, he did not understand, and wanted to know why his mother would give him up.
Jericho grew up on Iadara and was constantly surrounded by new starships being designed, and quickly became fascinated with space exploration. He was interested in the technology involved and wanted to experience life on a starship firsthand. Following his dream, he studied medical science in school and helped to develop the first Posi-Phasic Quantum Buffer (PPQB), which was designed to reverse the effects of Ichoric Neuritis of the Cerebrum when he was in his sophomore year at college. It was the first of its kind, and he had many people interested in it. The top bidder was Star Fleet, the one he was most willing share his ideas with.
He met with a recruiter shortly after demonstrating his device and agreed to join them upon graduation. However, even before he graduated, he was preparing for his lifelong career as a Star Fleet Medical Officer. Soon after graduation from college, he enrolled in Star Fleet Academy to further his life and knowledge.
Jericho longs for female companionship. He spent the better part of his life focusing on his career goals and education, pushing aside most everything else, including a relationship with a woman. He hopes that one day he'll settle down and relocate to a sparsely inhabited colony and start a family of his own. Of course, he would still be very much inclined to continue his duties at Star Fleet.
