Personal History
At a very young age his homeworld was attacked by the Borg and destroyed with only one large colony ship escaping. He was raised on this ship which suffered terrible disasters due to not being full functional when used to escape.
The ship was overcrowded so it was plagued by disease, crime and violence. Francis' father was killed in a riot when Francis was 12.
During his teenage years he trainend with the colony military and became decent solider. He was also taught his species' culture and methods of mystic arts (stage magic basically).
Eventually the borg caught up with the colony ship and the military engaged them with small three man ships. The vessel Francis worked on was The Tempest. The colony ship was destroyed as were all the fighter ships apart from The Tempest and Othello. Both crews agreed to find a species who were powerful enough to destroy the Borg and join with them and plot to commit genocide of the Borg. Francis disagreed with this and so The Tempest took him to the nearest populated planet and cast him away.
The planet, Ulidals VI, was parche in civil war between four opposing factions. Francis hired himself out as a mercenary to whoever would pay him the highest. He eventually worked under all four banners for different 'Jobs', mostly involving assassination. Once he had enough money, he bought himself a ship and escaped from the planet.
He spent the next few years going from planet to planet as a mystic, performing magic to unscientifically advanced species who did not know the science behind basic chemical reactions (such as for fireworks). He also went to more advanced people simply to learn about them and soon he dubbed himself an intergalatic traveller simply wandering around.
He went to a fergeni junkyard and found Othello derelict but functioning so he used what money he had and the small ship he had bought to buy Othello.
For a further few years he contiuned his travels but eventually got caught in a nebula along with a federation vessel. They could get their ship out, but not his so they took him aboard and went to Star Base Alpha where Francis came aboard the USS Sheridan and he still remains.
