Personal History

Paul Kilbourne was born on February 26th in Scotland, Earth. He is the son of a wealthy land-owner who was the descendant of ancient Scottish nobles. Always a wild child, Paul got into trouble everywhere: at school, at home, at parties. When he reached adolescence, he became extremely at odds with his parents, especially his father. He left home at 18 years old and joined Star Fleet just to defy Patrick Kilbourne. Somehow, he made it through the Academy at nearly the bottom of his class and was assigned as a Tactical Officer to the Federation Frigate, Tallahassee.

It took him about 11 years, but he finally reached the rank of Lieutenant and was assigned as the Chief Tactical Officer of his ship. He got into a heated dispute with another officer – Phillip Kraus and wound up in the brig having committed several violations of Star Fleet rules and regulations. He was ordered to report to a Captain’s Mast where his Commanding Officer found him guilty of all charges and issued him an ultimatum. The Captain gave him the choice of becoming a lowly tactical instructor at the Academy or turning himself into the Judge Advocate General for formal hearing. Not ready to leave Star Fleet and go back to Scotland, Paul took the position at Star Fleet Academy in San Francisco where he still serves to this day.

After serving at the Academy for several years, Kilbourne cleaned up his act and gained the trust and respect of his fellow colleagues and superiors. On Stardate 20507.25, Paul was promoted to the rank of Commander and assigned as an Academy Testing Representative and Senior Tactical Instructor. His duties entail proctoring and grading final exams of Star Fleet cadets as well as teaching several tactical classes throughout the day.

After distinguishing himself as an excellent administrator, Commander Kilbourne was assigned as Assistant Commandant of the Academy in recognition of his dedication. He became the main administrative aide of Captain Gillenwater and Commodore Keleios.

When Commodore Keleios left the Academy, William Gillenwater became the Superintendent. He assigned Kilbourne as the Commandant and promoted him to the rank of Captain

Dislikes: He dislikes slackers, procrastinators, and drop-outs since they remind him too much of himself when he was younger

Bad Habits or Vices: His biggest pet peeve is students who are overly self-conscious about their appearance and personality

Fears: His greatest fear is that his life will end without having made a mark on Star Fleet and the Federation
Prejudices: The only prejudices Paul has are against slackers, quitters, and rule-breakers at the Academy. He has no tolerance for such things and has been known to be very strict
Off Duty Clothing Tastes: Since he resides on campus and is therefore rarely “off-duty,” Paul normally wears his Star Fleet duty uniform. On the few occasions that he is out of uniform, he prefers to wear a dress shirt and khaki pants.
