Personal History
Born to Musician parents who performed with the Cairo Conservatory. His father a Violinist and his mother a Flutist, were baffled at a young age he was more interested in the sciences than the arts yet he performed so marvelously as a Musician, specifically a Trombonist. By the age of 14 and a freshman in high school, he was already in Honor Bands and had received numerous scholarships ranging from Julliard in the United States to the Royal Conservatory in England lined up for him. Luke's love for the sciences though were too much for him to ignore, so after performing “Sweet Lorraine” on his Bass Trombone, he announced his retirement from music and mentioned that he was going to join Star Fleet as an enlisted man. His parents were not too horrified because his brother Matt was also an accomplished musician who was always behind his brother in skill.
While in training, he scored so high on the exams and his physical performance was exemplary, he was hand picked by Captain T'la, a Senior Officer in Accident Investigations within the Federation to take part as an Intern during his summers off from the Academy. Upon further study and graduation from the Academy, he was placed in the Accident Investigations branch of Star Fleet, making a small name for himself as an investigator eventually working his way up the ranks until he eventually was placed as Senior Investigator where he was in charge of numerous investigations from shuttle crashes to major malfunctions in destroyed vessels, mainly those outside of Star Fleet.
On the first investigation he served as Investigator In Charge, he was placed in charge of a transport vessel carrying high explosives that had a multi-system failure which resulted in the ship's destruction. While he was investigating the ship, he noticed that there was a small cat that somehow managed to survive, along with a fatally wounded cook on the bridge. While the chef did die of his wounds, the all black cat, who was named Onyx by the chef, survived with only a broken leg. After being examined by a Vet, Nasir realized that the cat was not a cat, but an android cat who could understand human speech and had the ability to navigate his way around a ship by memorizing the ship's layout. After seeing that Onyx only has superior strength and intelligence to other cats (and some humans), Nasir decided to keep Onyx.
Even though he was sent out on a lot of missions, he always found time to increase his knowledge and he eventually was reassigned from Accident Investigations and went straight into a Chief Engineer's position on the USS Dauntless. Since he had so much experience dealing with Investigations, his knowledge of systems and figuring out what went wrong became his strongest trait.

Personal Paradigm Shifts
Most Painful Experience: When he was promoted to Senior Investigator and got his Lieutenant Commander rank, he telephoned his parents to tell them the news. They only sat there and nodded before saying that they loved him and then terminated the call.
Best Time: During his R&R during the Romulan Civil War, Nasir got bored and he decided to train Onyx on how to play chess. While others looked on, Onyx was able to learn how to play chess and actually started to beat Nasir at his own game. After playing so many stratagy games, Nasir eventually started owing his pet money, which he made up for with a scratch post and kat-nip, which turns out caused Onyx to react in the same way as any other cat would, like he was on drugs.
Most Crucial Experience: Finally telling his parents that he was going to join Star Fleet and be an Engineer was the most hardest decision he ever made in his life. It was at that point onward that they had to look to his brother in order to continue the family line of musicians. Even after 10 years, his parents never so much as sent him anything, even after the war when he had lost a lot of friends in battles.
Role Model: His first Commanding Officer, Captain T'la, was Nasir's mentor from his internship through his transfer to the Fleet and his subsequent assignment on the Battle Cruiser Dauntless as the Chief Engineer. T'la was the one who made it so that he can control when he can act like a human and be emotional and when he can be a man of logic and using logic to solve problems at a moment's notice.
