Personal History
Born and raised on a farm in Tennessee, Jeremy joined the Academy at the age of 19, much to the disappointment of his parents, who had always wanted him to head up the family farm. But though agriculture was in his blood, it was the sky that had always called to him. Like so many, he longed to be among the stars, and avidly sought a position as a
helmsman of the Fleet.
Jeremy looked at his time in the Academy as the best time of his life. He entered as a double major in Tactical and Engineering; however he continuously leaned toward Tactical. Still, he committed himself to learning both skills, convincing himself that he needed not only a practical knowledge of flight, but also the mechanics behind flight.
In his third year, his father became ill, and it was for this reason that Jeremy took a year off from his time at the Academy. Helping see his father through his illness brought the Jones family closer together, and Jeremy and his family were finally reconciled on the future of the only son. His parents left the farm and moved to San Francisco to be closer to Jeremy, who returned to the Academy to finish his training.
