Personal History

Ziggy was born to parents Anders and mother Genevieve (Nee - Borreg) a Risan, in the Spuyten Duyval section of the Bronx in the City of New York. As a child, he grew in nearby Riverdale, New York with his brother Leif. Since a child, Ziggy was always infatuated with Star Fleet and it's exploration missions.

He always knew he wanted to join Star Fleet when the time arrived. Before he could pursue his dreams, his parents spent many summers up in Massachusetts' Cape Cod. This is where he took up fishing and yacht racing. He and his brother won many championship in various yacht races while vacationing up in the Cape. Eventually his ambition and showing that he was a capable yacht pilot scored him a summer job at one of the marinas on the Cape. His love for the water and sailing was apparent.

While in High School, he attempted to test his brain and tried to pursue an astronomy/physics career. His thinking was to join Star Fleet as a Science or Engineering Officer but this proved to be futile. After struggling with his studies, he heeded the advice of his cousin, Theodore Caldecott in joining Star Fleet as a Security Officer.

At first the younger cousin was skeptical about joining such a 'grunt' department. But after barely passing those programs in High School with the help of teachers, his ambition was too great to let go. Ziggy then applied to Star Fleet as a Security Officer and was accepted first time around.

At the Academy he excelled in security courses, finishing nearly at the top of his class. This is where he accepted his kismet and concentrated solely on becoming a security officer. As his belly grew larger due to his over food indulging, he had to put in extra effort on the physical fitness requirements. With the help of a PT tutor at the academy, he was able to successfully pass physical readiness exams.

While at the Academy, he met his fiance, Loretta Vasquez who also was a Security Cadet. Knowing that their assignments could bring the pair to different assignments, he proposed and she willingly accepted. He hoped the two would be assigned together but knew it was almost impossible. He vowed to stay true to her even if it meant the pair would be away from each other for long periods of time.
