Personal History

Born to one Star Fleet Officer and a civilian Amanda spent most of her early life with her mother in the English country away from her father who served on board several Starships. She loved her childhood and all the friends she made. Her father whenever he was home pressed her to learn new things and to keep in shape so she would be perfect for Star Fleet academy, her mother on the other hand et her do whatever she wanted as well as her sister so homework never got done many a time. When her father retired it all changed. She was pushed hard in all her schoolwork and her fitness but her father made it fun for her. When she graduated out of high school her first stop wasn’t registering for Star Fleet academy that put her on her fathers bad side but in her mothers good graces. She worked at several holiday camps around Earth and travelled the old fashioned way. When she finally returned home after a couple of years she immediately signed up for Star Fleet after accomplishing her dream of travelling around the world by boat and land vehicle.

During her first year in the academy she didn’t select a major and did a few random courses to mix things up a bit, eventually after her first year she was forced to choose a course as a major and after much debate decided the Astrophysics course was a brilliant choice, she didn’t know why but she really enjoyed all of the work that went with a Science career. She decided to be more specific still and minored in Astrophysical sciences and Astrometrics. After graduating from the academy she was assigned a low-level Field studies assignment at Star Fleet cartography. Mainly working in the field of Astrometric studies.

She quickly found herself with a promotion and choice of ship, picking the Gettysburg above all others because of her recently upgraded cartography hardware
