Personal History

Born on the Earth in the Northern Hemisphere to Hanna and Joe Katson. She was the only child and was spoiled on both sides of the family and enjoyed her time with her childhood friend, Tiffany. They both decided to go into the Academy, yet with Tiffany’s recklessness and drinking at parties before the exams, she wasn’t able to join. Michelle, or nicknamed Mish, by her friends in her hometown, excelled in the marks and was accepted into the Security detail.

During her years at the Academy, she met Alexis Hundson, or Alex for short. They spent their free time together and began to know one another. He was in Tactical so some of the classes were in the same buildings. They both enjoyed staying fit and ran the track early in the morning. Graduating, they were torn apart by being assigned on different ships.

While she was on her first mission in the Neutral Zone, near the Romulan Border, they were hit by a few pirates and the ship was badly damaged. They were able to destroy the pirate’s ship, but not without casualties. Even Michelle didn’t come out without a few injuries, especially one to her leg, which she carries a small limp when she walks from time to time, and during this point in a her youth, the limp wasn’t bothersome to her mobility.

She then transferred, to be closer to home, but took a leave when she found out her parent s had unexpectedly passed away. Tiffany, having cleared up her partying, stayed by her young friend until she was able to return to duty. Afterwards, she was on the same ship as Alex, who was the Chief Tactical Officer. They didn’t see much of each other until she became the Chief of Security and a Lieutenant Junior Grade, unless they were both on the bridge and in mission briefings.

Shore leave was when they rekindled their love and he asked her to marry him. Shortly afterwards, the couple spent a few more years being in the front lines until another shore leave, and expectant of their first child, as well as the injury she obtained began to bother her and cause stiffness and issues with her mobility. The Captain of the ship told her he noticed her limping and wanted her to be reassigned elsewhere that wasn’t on a Starship. He gave her the option to return to Earth and become an Instructor once she had her child.

Michelle wasn’t thrilled to be taken out of space, but being pregnant and having a liability, she knew that it was best. The couple agreed, returned to Earth and Alex retired to stay with the children while Michelle continued to stay with Starfleet, at the Academy. To this day, her limp hasn’t gotten worse, nor has it improved.

The love she had for Starfleet, she wanted to give that to the cadet that passed through the doors of the Academy, where she once was a Cadet.
