Heart

The heart is an organ in all humanoids that pumps blood, maintaining flow through the circulatory system.

Monitoring and reporting on an individual's heartbeat, by determining heart rate, blood pressure, and/or pulse was common medical practice.

By the 24th century, artificial hearts were routinely used to replace hearts that cease functioning, due to disease, or were otherwise damaged.

Human Hearts

• In most cases, found on the left side of the chest
• Has four "chambers", or sections
• Adds oxygen to blood before recycling it into the bloodstream

Andorian Hearts

• A redundant circulatory system suggests hearts beat twice as fast as Humans'

Klingon Hearts
