Personal History
Jackson grew up the stereo typical only child. He wanted for nothing and was a bit on the spoiled side. His parents were very much in love and that made for a good home life. His dad, Richard, was a test pilot for a long time for Star Fleet. This allowed Jackson to be exposed to flying from a very early age.
He fell in love with it from his first flight. His parents encouraged Jackson’s love of flying in hopes that he would one day become a Tactical officer and fly starships. Jackson was able to log a lot of time in flight simulators. When he got into high school, he and his best friend, Ryan, both got jobs as shuttle tour pilots. They would take customers on sight seeing tours to see different attractions. Sometimes the trips were just and hour or two and other times they were day or week trips.
Toward the end of high school, both Jackson and Ryan had decided to enlist in the Marines to try and become fighter pilots. Both took the necessary testing but only Jackson was accepted to fighter school. Disappointed, Jackson was not going to accept. Ryan, not wanting to hold his friend back, convinced Jackson to become a pilot.
After graduating, Jackson was assigned to Jupiter station to Delta Squadron, where he flew F-1s on routine guard missions protecting Sol system. It was not very exciting work and not really the assignment he had hoped to get. But he stuck it out, until one day his Squadron Leader posted a recon position opening up on the Enterprise. Jackson applied and was accepted after turning in a solid performance in the flight test. It would at least be an exciting assignment. Jackson really took to the job. Because he liked what he was doing, he worked hard at it. In a few months time, he had been promoted to Leader of Spyglass Squadron and bumped up to 1st Lieutenant.
Shortly after deployment with Spyglass, Hatch was deployed to fight in the war on Dhar’hyyk. Once the fighting ended, he stayed behind as a Star Fleet advisor on the XF-2 special project. Now that the XF-2 has gone into service aboard the Tico, Hatch was assigned as with them in Halo Squadron.
