Personal History
Lalaine was born in Toronto, Canada to two Star Fleet Officers. She lived in Toronto for the first 6 years of her life before her parents accepted a deep space assignment and decided to bring her along with them. Sadly her parents were killed within the first two-month of the two year assignment, leaving Lalaine to survive on the ship for the remainder of the time without family. The Senior Staff made sure to keep an eye on her; the CMO, Cdr. Kara Thompson and the CTO, LCdr. Chad Henderson kept the closest watch on her, making sure that she rarely got in trouble and stayed occupied. They accomplished that by teaching her the basics of their fields of expertise.
When the two year assignment came to an end, Lalaine was moved to Chicago, IL to live her uncle, Bruce, and his housekeeper, Dee. She spent most of her childhood secluded due to her uncle’s wealth and the area in which they lived. She passed the time by reading, causing her to be far ahead of the other children around her age, which only succeeded in secluding her even more. She was teased brutally at school for being smart and this caused her to be timid around those she didn’t know.
As she grew older, she discovered physical activities, taking a huge liking to lacrosse, water polo, and boxing. She put much of the energy she had previously put into studying towards that. This helped bring her out of seclusion, causing her to interact with people her own age. She came to realize that she actually enjoyed the company of others and the competition the sports provided, although she was still rather timid.
At the age of 17, Lalaine turned down scholarships to play lacrosse at major universities so that she could follow in her parents’ footsteps and join Star Fleet. She was forced to choose between the to fields that had always interested her, Tactical and Medical. With the help of Thompson and Henderson, who had both remained involved in her life, she chose Tactical. At the age of 20 she graduated at the top of her class with a major in Tactical and a minor in Medical and was assigned to the USS Gettysburg

Personality: Lalaine seems very quiet and withdrawn at first but when she becomes comfortable around people and her surroundings she becomes more outgoing and all around friendly. She is very reliable, and stays calm under stress. Her major problem is that when faced with a personal problem she seems to seclude herself until someone makes an effort to help her
