Hakton VII is the inhabited seventh planet in its star system. This system, located in the Cardassian Demilitarized Zone, was home to a Federation colony. Soon after, the colony became been out of contact for ten years, until the USS Jefferson responded to a distress signal sent by the colony.
The crew of the Jefferson helped locate an illegal Uridum mining operation run by the Farians, and thus allowed the colonist to launch an attack to end it.
The Colony leader at that time was Chairman Johnson.
In 2370, three settlers were killed by Cardassians, who claimed it was in response to the Maquis bombing of the Cardassian freighter Bok'Nor.
