Personal History
Kyle Gibson had an interesting childhood as the oldest of three children to Edward, a Canadian civilian shuttle pilot, and Tali, an Israeli Starfleet Security officer, and was the only one of the couple's three children born on Earth in his mother's homeland of Israel.
After his parents moved to the colony of Arcadia, Kyle was joined by his brothers Eric (two years later) and Adam (a year and a half later) and was raised embracing his dual cultural heritage as he grew up in Concord, the capital of the colony, where he would eventually became close friends with Wil Pierce, Alex Slayton, and Marcus Owens.
His days were spent with him doing normal childhood things which included often times being in trouble due to Wil's issues with him being protective of his kid sister or the usual bouts of "mayhem" that the "Good Brothers" in Alex and Marcus would cause but it was during this time that Kyle's interest in martial arts would be sparked and his mother used this interest to help his mother who was tired of her oldest child not having a direct outlet for his frustration.
"It's just a boy's simple interest, Tali, nothing major will come for it" was his father's exact quote.
This "simple interest" turned out to be very adept at hand to hand combat and also started to show an intense interest in the styles of other races as well, eventually making it to the yellow-white belt in the Gracie school of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at the tender age of fourteen and the white belt before he headed off to the academy.
As he grew older, Kyle was able to prove that his skill weren't just physical as he was also as sharp in the mind-much to his mother's relief-and he soaked up as much as he could learn as his mother hoped that generations of soldiering would've been bred out of her family and was enjoying the fact that Kyle was aiming to go to medical school until the attack.
One day six months before he was to graduate from primary school, a bomb went off at the station where his mother was working out of and while she survived, this would also lead to him meeting a person that would change the scope of his life.

Due to a few concerns, Starfleet Command sent in a team of Naval Criminal Investigative Services (NCIS) agents to investigate the situation and found that it was caused by members of the local Orion Syndicate who had been trying to remove the planetary security chief who had been forcing them to pay for "Security concerns" and Kyle's mom was nothing more then a bystander.
A few weeks later as he helped his mother get used to her new replacement leg, she told him that she was going to retire from the fleet at which point KYle said that he was going to join as the incident shown him that he needed to do more with his life.
