Germany

Germany was a country on the continent of Europe.

It saw a history of both pain and medicine, from being under the control of a vicious dictator, to becoming a pioneer in cutting-edge medicine.

Occasionally referred to in the history books as "the country of poets and thinkers," the phrase "Germanic" is used to describe the development of languages, music, and architecture.

• For example, the language of English is a Germanic language.
• The home of many inventors and engineers, these people helped to shape both automotive and air transportation technology, including the beginnings of space travel.

Despite its harsh roots being planted firmly in the past, a person may be referred to as "German" or, in a more derogatory sense, a "Nazi," in reference to their rigid behavior.
