Personal History
Nicholas grew up on Earth and always had the intention of becoming a historical fiction writer. One day, however, he had a conversation with a man and a woman from Star Fleet and realized that \b{he} could develop strategies to win wars.
With the support of his parents he applied for and was accepted to Star Fleet Academy and graduated in Tactical Strategies. In his single-mindedness he never figured a minor was important.
He was posted to a scout ship and served there for two years. At 24, his left leg was obliterated by debris during a battle. He was fitted with a prosthetic but didn’t’ take well to it. Star Fleet denied him the ability to continue to serve on a ship due to his decreased mobility. He returned to Earth dejected but found love in a woman named Joanna. They married and Nicholas has since mastered the use of his leg, making his handicap unnoticeable to most people, however, he does not want to leave home anymore. So he volunteered to teach at the Academy.
