Hey Alice, hope everything is going well back at the Academy. Sorry I haven’t written until now, but for the past few days we have been on full alert and I have been pulling double duty. They have had us scanning for Romulan ships. I think it is probably a drill, as if Romulans would show up here.

Oh, big news! Guess which handsome Lieutenant finally asked me out? Remember the one I told you about, Perry. He did it earlier this morning after our shift. He was so cute; he waited until everyone else got off the turbolift. We were talking about how stupid it was that we had to pull a double for a drill when out of the blue he asked if I wanted to go to breakfast with him. I thought to myself, it took you long enough. I have been up forty-eight straight hours and probably should have told him another time, but I said yes. I told him that I needed to freshen up, so I am meeting him in twenty minutes. He has the darkest blue eyes. I’m so excited.

More big news! My supervisor approved my shore leave, so I will get to attend your graduation. I can’t hardly believe it. Me and my little sister, both in Star Fleet. And I got enough time off to spend some time at home on the farm. Mom and Dad will be happy, I have not told them yet, I wanted to surprise them so mum’s the word.

I know Finals Week is grueling but it is so worth it when you finally graduate. Don’t worry, you will do just fine. Have you heard where you are going to be posted yet? I hope you get a ship and not a Star Base. It is so boring, nothing ever happens. We just sit here and wait for ships to dock and leave again. If you do get posted to a ship, maybe I can put in for a transfer. How exciting would it be to be serving on the same ship together!

Also, I think you will love your graduation gift. I won’t tell you want it is but I will give you a hint; think your favorite author.

Oh no! Stupid Red Alert just sounded. This drill is really getting on my nerves. Now I am going to miss breakfast with Perry! I have to hurry up and send this, I will see you at graduation!!!!

Love ya little sis,

Lizbeth
