Henri grew up in an orphanage, having been left there as baby. He tried briefly to trace his family as a teenager but didn’t have any success. He shrugged it off with his usual good humour, he’s always been very comfortable with himself.
He worked out early on that his size gave him an advantage, but he is careful not to use it, except to defend himself. Some of the other children were afraid of him, and he hated that, he would never hurt anything deliberately.
Initially he studied child psychology on Earth, knowing how much it means to a distressed child, but he longed to travel and had always liked the idea of being in Star Fleet so when one of his teachers made a point of asking if she should put his name forward, he decided to go for it and has never looked back
