The Enolians are a humanoid species, native to the Alpha Quadrant.
The most notable characteristic of Enolians are the ridges on their cheeks, which vary in prominence among individuals.
By the mid-22nd century, they ran the Canamar prison. They were a significant interstellar power, operating hundreds of starships and several busy trading outposts. Their judicial system was not known for its fairness, however, and they arrested Jonathan Archer for smuggling.
Culture
Structured around commerce and law enforcement, Enolians have a strong sense of order, and prioritize maintaining a stable and secure environment for trading. They value obedience to the law, and have strict penalties for those who break the law. Their society had a hierarchical structure, with individuals holding various positions of authority. Their deep respect for rules and regulations carried over to their relations, and expected others to have the same respect for their laws and punishments.

Government
The Enolian government is structured around a central authority that oversaw law enforcement and the administration of justice. They have a well-developed judicial system that is known for its efficiency in apprehending and punishing criminals. However, there have been instances where the system had been criticized for its lack of due process and harsh treatment of prisoners. The high-security Canamar prison colony is where they incarcerate all their criminals.
Arrests can be made without proof, and trials are pre-determined.
Known History
The history of this species is deeply rooted in their development as a trading civilization. Their homeworld became a hub for interstellar trade, due to its strategic location, as well as its abundance of resources. The Enolians went on to establish trading posts on various planets, and engaged in commerce with other species throughout the sector.
In 2152, Jonathan Archer and the Enterprise, NX-01 conducted first contact with the Enolians. While the mission at first seemed successful, it was quickly revealed that the Captain and Chief Engineer Tucker were falsely arrested on smuggling charges. They were shackled and loaded onto a prisoner transport, bound for a penal colony. Though the Enterprise were able to find the ship and save its Captain and Chief Engineer, the only thing the Enolians offered was a cheap apology.
