Personal History

Jon grew up in a normal childhood. His family was larger than most, consisting of his four older brothers, one older sister and two parents. His parents were an odd mixture of traditionalists and modernists. They had replicators in their home, but rarely used them. They lived in a large house and he shared a room with his youngest older brother who was 4 years older than him. His other brothers were triplets, something very rare in the modern world where births were more controlled. They were exactly one year older than his other brother, to the day. His older sister was 9 years older than him. His sister was off to college when he was young, but his brothers were in the home during his upbringing. His mother was an archeologist who studied artifacts in the lab. His father was a well off business man who was rarely ever home. His parents used the older children as babysitters for Jon, something they resented. Jon was horribly tormented by his siblings, humiliated, picked on and made fun of. He would constantly be blamed for their misbehavior and would accept their punishments to deter them from exacting revenge on him.

His brother and sisters were over-achievers. He was an average student, but seemed so slow and meek compared to his siblings. He learned that the best way to get good grades was by kissin up to teachers. He made it onto a varsity team by offering to do random errands for the coach!

Jon applied to Star Fleet to get out of his house but failed the entrance exam two years in a row. He ended up going to a small technical school and studying programming. He worked for a few years as a security guard and ended up applying for an entry level position at the government building. He kissed butt enough to work his way up to a position on the Academy grounds and was finally able to become a Crewman and get assigned on starships.

He is always seeking approval from authority figures because his brothers had created such a low self esteem in him. He is always certain that he wasn’t doing a task well enough. Once assigned to him, the project or task will be completed exactly as requested in the shortest amount of time possible. He doesn't slack off. He also doesn't have original thoughts when it came to assignments from authority figures, he will do exactly as asked, nothing more and nothing less. He is constantly seeking to be on the good side of the important people around him, not caring about the reactions of others. For this reason, Jon can often be described by others as a kiss up. However, superior officers often cite him as being very useful for tasks others won’t do. Jon will never turn down an assignment, no matter how risky, dirty or humiliating.

Personality Profile

Academy Major(s): N/A
Academy Minor(s): N/A
Hobbies and Pastimes: Playing single player games such as Klondike, Mahjong, etc.
Short-Term Goals: Make certain his superiors are aware of his presence.
Long-Term Goals: Promotions to more power, being able to command others.
Personality: Eager to please, unable to deviate from instructions, tattle-tale. Kiss up who will do all the grunt work to get on your good side. If he doesn't see you as a superior officer, he will do what he can to discredit you in the eyes of those who "matter" to him. He will do whatever it takes to make sure he always has favorable reviews.
Sense of Humor: Will smile at your joke but has a limited sense of humor of his own.
Phobias: Crowds of people closing in on him
Likes: A job well done, thrives on positive feedback and compliments from superiors.
Dislikes: People who don’t follow the rules, people that don’t enforce the rules, people who complain too much about their lives, people that don’t do the tasks assigned to them in an efficient manner. Crowded spaces, uncontrollable situations.
Pet Peeves or Gripes: People who don’t follow orders.
Bad Habits or Vices: Playing games on his monitor when he thinks no one is watching/aware, ignores those he considers "useless" to his cause.
Achievements: Earning the rank of PO3, despite also earning the dislike of a number of officers left in his wake
Disappointments: Being transferred off the Copernicus. He had enjoyed it there, and felt he had a relationship going with the COS Fields.
Illnesses: Nothing major, a few broken bones from his brothers torture that were reported as “normal childhood accidents”.
Strengths: Completing tasks quickly, willingness to do grunt work, ability to follow orders…any order.
Weaknesses: He has never been given an order he didn’t follow, depends too much on positive reinforcement, without it he can shut down psychologically and become withdrawn, depressed and a danger in a security emergency.
Fears: Being bullied by his crewmates, disappointing his superior officers.
Prejudices: None that he is aware of.
Off Duty Clothing Tastes: Uniform, always
Distinguishing Features: None
Pets: None that were his
Friends: None

Personal Paradigm Shifts

Most Painful Experience: Growing up the baby and never being able to outshine his siblings
Best Time: His first starship assignment, when he knew he would finally be able to leave home.
Most Crucial Experience: Choosing to remain silent when asked about Cdr Anders involvement in a murder, despite knowing the truth that the officer committed the murder. Jon knew the victim was a spy with orders to kill the CO, so he felt no guilt lying to the inquiry to save his superior officer.
Role Model: Senior Officers
