Personal History

Dvir was born to Lhai and Michael in Chicago, IL in late July. His parents were doctors for Starfleet. Lhai named Dvir after her father. About a year after his birth his parents left Earth for a medical situation that involved the Romulans, but their ship and all aboard had disappeared. He was raised by his father’s brother's family in Chicago.

Dvir’s uncle, Steven, had never known any other Vulcans besides his sister-inlaw so he didn’t know much about raising a half Vulcan child, so he raised Dvir alongside his son Dylan and as a human child. Dvir didn’t look like or act like most Vulcan children, his ears were more human than vulcan, and his skin color was even closer to that of a human, and unlike vulcans he was not a vegetarian. Dvir was closer to humans than vulcan.

Growing up Dvir and Dylan were inseparable, that neither went anywhere without the other. His uncle would often take the boys to Wisconsin where he taught them to survive in the wilds, build shelters and live off the food the world provided. He taught the boys to hunt and fish, but only to take what they needed to survive and to use every part of the animal. On Dvir’s tenth birthday his mother’s parents had finally come to see him, His grandparents had shown up to see Dvir and to take him back to Vulcan with them to raise him in the vulcan ways.

Dvir refused to go so he ran away from home. It was Dylan who had found him and had convinced him to go back to Vulcan. For the next four years he had trained on vulcan his grandfather had taught him the history of Vulcan; one of Dvir’s Vulcan heroes was Spock. He learned that Spock had learned to live with both his human half and his vulcan half.

Dvir had a hard time controlling his emotions and would always let them get the better of him. His grandfather saw this and though he was disappointed that Dvir refused to learn to control his emotions he never showed it. The only discipline that he was able to teach Dvir was that of meditation. He could never keep his mind on the meditation, and it would drift to missing Dylan, and his home.

It was during his 14th year when Dvir suffered through his first Pon Farr, the pain and torment he felt of the burning of his vulcan blood, where he truly learned the benefits of meditation. His grandfather told him to focus on the times he had with his cousin and use those memories as the focus of his meditation. He followed his grandfather’s words and was able to focus on meditation.

When Dvir had turned 21 he told his grandfather that he had been accepted to Starfleet Academy, he told him that like Spock he will always be a child of two worlds, but unlike Spock he could not turn his life to logic and block the emotions that connected him to his human past. He returned first to Chicago where he was greeted by his uncle and Dylan. The next day Dylan and him went to the academy.

During their time at the academy Dylan and Dvir’s parents' status was changed from MIA to KIA, but everything about their mission had been classified. Dvir had made several attempts to find out what had happened, but had not succeeded. He did believe that the Romulans were involved in some way. He still has not given up hope and believed his parents were still alive.
