Personal History
Parents met while being assigned to Deep Space Nine. Her father is human and my mother is a joined trill. Her father is an engineer and would start to show Kathy the ropes of using the different tools once in a while. Her father is human and my mother is a joined trill. She always wanted to be part of Star Fleet and to go through the initiate training in hopes to get joined.
She was born and lived on Deep Space Nine for most of my life. She was the top of my class and would enjoy countless hours wondering the promenade. The promenade became a thinking place for her. She also liked to spend time watching her father repair several non essential pieces of equipment.
There is so much going on with the station so she was never bored but her parents thought it would be better for her to get an education on Earth for a while in hopes that it would look better on my application for being joined. So by the time she was 12, the family moved to Earth. But for a short while she rebelled against her mother by focusing on weaponry training rather then on studies that would help her through the Academy and to be joined
While she was Earth, she picked up a habit of reading any text that she could get of hold of. So it meant that sometimes she would learn new languages to read a book; she would learn a new language so that is how she learned Klingon, French, Bajoran, and German besides the standard tongue of the federation.
She went through the Academy to go learn more about her first love, engineering. She indulged her other loves of history and weaponry by taking it was a minor. She was able to graduate from the Academy.
She had her first position on the Agincourt. She enjoyed the assignment and going on her first away mission to try and savage the Tokyo. She was saddened when they were recalled to the Agincourt, which resulted in the destroying what was left of the Tokyo. She was also saddened when she heard that her new captain died. But she was able to receive the rank of Lt. [JG] near the end of the mission.
After her first mission, she was transferred to the Yeager. She continued to work in engineering on her new ship. Just as she was starting to get settled pirates raided the ship. She was surprised to see that the CEO of was in league with the pirates; and after has been an ACEO due to be one of the most senior staff in the department. She had a very intense relationship with the ship’s security officer where she nearly married him. But things fell apart after getting joined.
She was joined after meeting with Edrial Duraahl on a hostile planet. Edrial was bringing home a symbiont to the Trill home world but the status unit broke forcing an emergency transfer. Kathy was selected even though she was only a hybrid due to the circumstances and new information presented to Edrial by Dega’s former host. She was the first joined hybrid although Telsia would follow suit in less than a few days and her case was better known which suited Kathy fine. She didn’t’ want to make too much of a big deal of being joined. She just wanted to make the transition to being joined. It didn’t take too long to adjust to being joined which was remarkable.
Almost immediately after being joined, she transferred to the Dauntless. She was to come on as their chief engineer. She served a few missions there. Then she moved to the Drake. But she never really got to serve a full mission on the Drake since the whole crew was moved to the Dauntless when Capt. Jal was promoted and given the new ship.

Off Duty Clothing Tastes: Tends to wear either her uniform or something comfortable like slacks and blouse when on extended shore leave. Will occasionally sport a summer dress

Pets: None with her on the station but has an old English sheepdog that lives with her parents
Friends: Values all her friends as a best friend and couldn't name just one
Personal Paradigm Shifts
Most Painful Experience: She was very upset by the passing of Edrial Duraahl. She helped her to be joined and was a close friend to Dega’s previous host. The near take over of Trill was extremely troublesome. But Mirianni, Mike, Kinziri and her were able to prevent the planet’s take over in the end. Although several lives were lost in the process
Best Time: The best time in Kathy’s life is right now. She is enjoying the present, getting wrapped up in a new romantic relationship and enjoying life on the Yeager. She regretted leaving the ship but she has settled in and is really enjoying her new post on the Dauntless
Most Crucial Experience: The most crucial experience in her life has been getting joined. It changed her perspective on life but at the same time reinforced some of her original ideas on working habits.
Role Model: Kathy doesn’t have one particular role model. She has always had several different hobbies and interests so it seemed natural to have more then one person to look up to as a role model. One of her biggest role models is her own father. He was always person she could always talk to, learn from and willing to dish out lots of good advice. Another of her role models was Albert Einstein for his wit, humor, and his scientific contributions. She also looks to Montgomery Scott and Geordi La Forge for their technical skill and talents in engineering. Her final role model is the Earth writer Dorothy Parker due to her witness and stark observations she placed in her writing.
